"The easy way to integrate CANopen-enabled automation devices into EtherNet/IP networks."
The new Anybus X-gateway CANopen from HMS Industrial Networks enables system integrators to easily transfer I/O data between automation devices on EtherNet/IP and CANopen. Tailor-made for usage in machines and systems in all areas of industrial automation, typical applications include communication between e.g. Rockwell or Schneider Electric PLCs and CANopen- enabled drives, sensors, actuators, or measuring equipment.
The configurable and slim stand-alone gateway mounts to a standard DIN rail and is powered by 24 Volt industrial power supply. It functions as an adapter (slave) on the EtherNet/IP network and as a manager (master) on the CANopen side. The CANopen master functionality is configured with a flexible and easy-to-use Windows-based configuration tool which is included with the product. After the initial configuration has been downloaded to the gateway, it passes up to 510 byte of input and 510 byte of output data transparently between EtherNet/IP and CANopen. Up to 126 CANopen slaves can be connected to the gateway using a total of up to 128 receive PDOs and 128 transmit PDOs. The gateway is equipped with an integrated 2-port switch on the EtherNet/IP side, enabling EtherNet/IP installations in bus or line topology without the need for external switches. As a result, system integrators can benefit from significantly reduced installation and maintenance costs.
The new X-gateway combines simplicity and usability with industrial robustness, making communication across different industrial network types easy and reliable.
Including Ethernet/IP, the Anybus X-gateway CANopen product family supports integration and communication to 10 different fieldbus and industrial Ethernet networks such as Profibus, DeviceNet, CANopen, EtherCAT, Modbus and Profinet. All versions work the same way, making it the most flexible standard solution to connect two industrial networks on the market. By combining the new X-gateway CANopen family with the already existing X-gateway offering, which has been on the market since 2004, HMS offers well over 300 individual and ready-to-use gateways aimed to connect almost every possible combination of two industrial networks.
