The 56th Analysis Division Symposium successfully concluded its event in League City (TX US) in mid April.
This symposium, sponsored by the ISA Analysis Division, offered over 300 international process analyser professionals five days of technical training, including more than 30 peer-reviewed and published papers, technical information sessions, social functions and an exhibition featuring products from 43 supplier companies.
Eighty-five participants attended a New Sampling/Sensor Initiative (NeSSI) Workshop. The workshop covered technical and business issues associated with identifying and mitigating safety hazards in industrial environments. The workshop featured status summaries on Generation I (substrate and connectivity) and Generation II (digital communications and control). Multiple users and vendors offered case histories of real installations. The status of Generation III (microanalytics) was reviewed by early adopters and the primary sponsoring organization, The Center for Process Analytics & Control (CPAC – The University of Washington). An expert panel concluded the workshop with a review of NeSSI’s future prospects and potential.
Industry professionals received awards for best papers and Cameron Measurement (formerly PAAI) received the “Most Innovative New Product Award” for the Pygas Condensing Gas Sampler.
