The Proline Promag 200 electromagnetic flow meter, a two-wire magmeter that offers the same measuring performance as four-wire magmeters has just been launched by Endress+Hauser.
The Promag H200 is available in line sizes of 1/12 to 1 inch and Promag P200 is available in line sizes of 1/2 to 8 inch for measuring the flow rates of conductive fluids with an accuracy of ±0.5% of range and repeatability of ±0.2 % of range.
The flowmeter operates in process temperatures from -40 to 304 ºF. Connections include welded, threaded, hygienic and flanged versions that meet EN/DIN PN 16-40, ASME B16.5 Cl 150, Cl 300 and JIS 10K and 20K process connection pressure ratings.
Installation is simpler and less costly than a four-wire device because a separate power source isn’t required. Because the meter is intrinsically safe, no seals or external enclosures are required for installations in hazardous areas. The Promag 200 has ATEX, IECEx and cCSAus approvals for installations in Class I, Division 1 and 2 groups, and for Zones 1 and 2. The Promag 200 also meets IEC 61508 SIL, ANSI and NAMUR safety requirements.
The output of the Promag 200 is a two-wire, 4-20 mA signal with HART or a pulse/frequency/switch output. The HART option offers a wealth of two-way information capabilities including diagnostics, and instrument status. The magmeter has a local four-line text display with touch control, guided menus, ”Make it Run” wizards for setting up applications, and displays for information on causes and remedial measures.
All device data and device configurations are automatically saved in nonvolatile memory in a HistoROM module in the Promag 200’s transmitter housing. HistoROM is an intelligent device data management system that makes it possible to replace the flowmeter quickly and easily without loss of data. Configuration data can also be transferred to a replacement flowmeter using the HistoROM module.
