A study was conducted by Control Engineering in May 2013 to evaluate cyber security awareness and implementation of cyber defenses. Of the respondents, 41% indicated their role within their organisation as a process control engineer, while 16% are production engineering managers.
The top five primary industries serviced by the respondents' companies are manufacturing (25%), engineering services (11%), energy/utilities (10%), oil and gas production/delivery (10%), and chemical production (9%).
