National Instruments honours 22 companies with 2010 Global Supplier awards
National Instruments has announced the 22 recipients of the company’s Global Supplier Awards for 2010. The annual awards were presented to suppliers who, through their commitment to excellence, continuous improvement and innovative practices, delivered world-class performance within the global supply chain.
FedEx, a supplier of global logistic services, is the recipient of this year’s Supplier of the Year Award, which recognises the supplier that consistently performs beyond expectations throughout the year. FedEx developed a custom shipping solution that makes it possible for National Instruments to service its key markets while shipping from an emerging market. This solution helped National Instruments significantly shorten its delivery times to customers while reducing inventory.
Analog Devices, a supplier of analogue, mixed-signal and digital signal processing ICs, is the recipient of the inaugural NI Eagle Award. This award recognises exceptional global support and performance from key technology providers. Analog Devices was honoured with the award for providing cost-effective, high-performance products in a challenging market over the last year.

National Instruments recognises suppliers in six categories: Supplier of the Year, NI Eagle Award, Best in Commodity Class, Overall Scorecard Performance, Quality and On-Time Delivery. Award recipients are chosen based on the National Instruments supplier scorecard, which evaluates performance in the areas of cost, quality, global support, delivery, technology and innovation. Suppliers are scored quarterly with periodic reviews scheduled to facilitate better communication as well as to identify possible improvement opportunities.
