Security track at #ISAwk

The International Society of Automation (ISA) has announced the offerings of its Security Track at ISA Automation Week 2010: Technology and Solutions Event, Tuesday, 4-7 October 2010, at the Westin Galleria Hotel, Houston, Texas, USA.

ISA’s Security Track offers a variety of topics to keep professionals current on the latest topics, including regulatory issues, alarming and monitoring, firewalls, encryption, physical security, safeguarding energy reserves, and others. Security standards ISA99, NIST 800, and will also be addressed.

Sessions will include paper presentations and participants from notable companies including AkzoNobel; Constellation Energy; OSIsoft, LLC; EnGlobal; Yokogawa; Apprion; Exida; Shell; ABB; and others.

Security Track session titles include:
  • What Are Users Doing to Secure Their Industrial Control Systems?
  • Lifecycle of a Vulnerability from Detection through Mitigation
  • Defense against Advanced ICS Attack Scenarios
  • Secure Remote Access to ICS Networks
  • Emerging Research and Development in ICS Security
  • Industrial Certification: What Does it Mean for Industry?
  • The Convergence of Safety and Security

“ISA’s conferences continue to be the best place for security professionals working at any level from facilities to engage in thought-provoking discussions on issues that affect our world,” said ISA Automation Week Program Committee Co-chair, Gerald Cockrell of Indiana State University. “Each year, industry’s top professionals attend to share their research and knowledge, which really has developed the program into what it is today.”

ISA Automation Week is a technical conference that covers two and a half days of sessions, and includes two keynote addresses, networking and social events, and a 10,000-square-foot exhibit area that features more than 100 exhibitors.
