High pressure transmitter for challenging operating environments!

The Rosemount 3051S High Static Differential Pressure Transmitter, a reliable solution for critical process measurements in applications requiring high static pressure capability of up to 1034 bar (15,000 psi) has been introduced by Emerson.

Emerson’s Rosemount 3051S high-pressure transmitter technology and all-welded, stainless steel design is custom-engineered to withstand extremely high static pressures. The SuperModule™ platform and coplanar design reduce potential leak points by 50 per cent compared to traditional designs, ensuring the highest differential pressure measurement accuracy, field reliability and safety. Moreover, the hermetically sealed SuperModule isolates the pressure sensor and electronics from harsh process and environmental conditions to optimise performance and reliability over the life of the transmitter, and is backed by a 15-year warranty.

“We developed high static pressure transmitter technology to support the higher pressure applications our customers are requesting. For example, emerging oil and gas recovery techniques used in deep-sea offshore and enhanced oil recovery operations are pushing to ever higher pressures,”
said Scott Nelson, vice president and general manager of Rosemount pressure products at Emerson Process Management. “Oil and gas exploration companies, working in increasingly challenging operating environments, require advanced technologies that provide better process insight and help them comply with industry regulations and safety standards for high pressure applications. The durable, compact Rosemount 3051S High Static Differential Pressure Transmitter meets these needs.”

Traditional instrumentation used for high pressure service is large and bulky and can double or triple the footprint and weight of a typical measurement point. The Rosemount 3051S High Static Differential Pressure Transmitter’s lightweight design and compact coplanar platform weighs 60 per cent less than traditional transmitters; on a typical platform using 300-500 traditional pressure transmitters, the 3051S can help oil and gas companies reduce weight by hundreds of kilogrammes topside. The coplanar Rosemount 3051S High Static Differential Pressure Transmitter also integrates additional hardware such as integral manifolds into a single assembly, further reducing weight and lowering overall installation and instrumentation costs. As processing applications increasingly operate in conditions with extreme pressures and temperatures, operators must vigilantly monitor equipment integrity and stability in order to prevent failures, safety hazards and decreased production. In industries such as offshore and onshore oil and gas, and power generation where pressures can exceed 690 bar (10,000 psi), it is critical that instrumentation be robust enough to provide accurate measurements on a consistent basis.
