Foremost Electronics has additional models and features in the MEC multimec® switch range. MEC Switches was established in 1938 and is one of the leading European manufacturers of high quality switches with a reputation for leading-edge design and the use of top quality materials delivering maximum reliability under all conditions.
The latest innovations in the multimec® switch range include Orange & White LED illumination, frosted caps for more even light dispersion and Foremost offers end users a custom cap printing service.
There are four basic switch modules, 3A, 3C, 3E and 3F, in the multimec® range which provide the components to assemble a very wide variety of options of both illuminated and non-illuminated switches. A 1mm actuator travel combined with 3N actuation force (300g) provides a strong, audible, tactile feel throughout the 10 million cycle mechanical life of the switch.
All multimec® switches are sealed to IP67M specifications and may be specified with optional increased actuation force, useful for additional tactile “feel” in noisy environments or a "quiet" version for audio, broadcast or medical applications etc.
The multimec® range of switches are RoHS compliant available in either through-hole or surface mounting, with either silver or optional gold contacts and in standard or high temperature models.
“The versatility of multimec® push button switches offers designers great flexibility in creating unique front panel designs.” Comments Alan Cook, Managing Director of Foremost Electronics; “They are available with a very wide range of cap styles and illumination colours providing thousands of options for panel design and layout. We have been distributing MEC switches for over 20 years and very extensive stock holding and the most competitive prices available. We also have the most cap options in stock in the UK and offer tailor made solutions for our customers.”
Typical applications for the multimec® switch range available from Foremost include agriculture, audio-visual, communication, consumer electronics, electrical appliances, industrial automation, instrumentation, medical, security, transport and many more markets.
