Matrikon Inc., now part of Honeywell, today announced it will provide ENMAX Corp. – a provider of electricity, natural gas and value-added services in Canada – with an integrated work and inventory management solution that will help it improve short- and long-term maintenance planning.

The solution is being implemented in ENMAX’s Generation division. Matrikon will configure and implement its IBM Maximo solution to help ENMAX reduce equipment breakdowns, cut maintenance costs and improve efficiency. The Maximo asset management software helps streamline business processes for increased asset reliability and improved staff productivity. In addition to maintenance planning, the system should improve the utilization of resources at generation facilities and help ensure inventory parts are available when required.

A key feature of the solution is its flexibility in meeting the power company’s future requirements. Corporate systems, such as PeopleSoft financials and Kronos payroll, will be integrated so that the data seamlessly flows back and forth for increased visibility of information in one integrated environment. Once the environment is integrated at the corporate level, ENMAX can consider expanding the use of Maximo to support work and inventory management needs of other ENMAX businesses.
