Explosion proof "hockey-puck" instruments!

Moore Industries BH Model field-mount enclosure certified by cCSAus

This story introduces us to a term we had never heard before this side of the Atlantic, where ice hockey does not enjoy the popularity it does in North America, "hockey-puck instruments!" We must admit it is a very appropriate term though (see pics!)

CSA International has certified Moore Industries’ BH field-mount instrumentation enclosures explosion-proof.

The BH enclosures provide protection for field-mounted hockey-puck instruments. In fact, the housing meets standards for enclosing indoor and outdoor electronic instruments approved for use in explosion-proof, dust-ignition proof and intrinsically-safe locations.

With the new certificate, the BH equipment rating is as follows:
    Class I, Groups A, B, C and D; Class II, Groups E, F and G; Class III; Type 4X, IP66. Prior approvals include Factory Mutual (FM) Explosion-Proof, Dust-Ignition Proof and NEMA 4X; IP66, and ATEX Flame-Proof certifications.
Meeting NEMA 4X and IP66 ratings, the BH housing is resistant to ultraviolet rays and chemicals. Its high impact structure protects instruments even in harsh field conditions.

With the new cCSAus Certificate of Conformity, the BH Model Field-Mount Enclosure has been Certified as Explosion-Proof, added as “Part B” to the existing Certificate issued for Moore Industries’ SB Stainless Steel, Explosion-Proof Enclosure for Hockey-Puck Instruments.
