International distributor incentive scheme launched.

As a specialist manufacturer of gas analysis equipment, Signal relies on distributors to service its customers around the world. Managing Director James Clements says: “In recent years, we have expanded our number of global partners, and we are keen to ensure that we help them in every way possible. Equally, they need to be pro-active in their local markets, so we created an ‘Authorised Distributor Scheme’ to give them the tools that they need, and to incentivise positive action.”

Those distributors that sign up for the scheme will become eligible for a range of benefits, some of which are dependent on performance. For example, over a 12-month period each distributor will be assessed and graded into one of three categories: Gold, Silver and Bronze. Those achieving the Gold level will receive a 3% (of annual sales) credit on their account, with those in the Silver level receiving 2% and Bronze 1%.

The distributor evaluation criteria will include: training, either in Britain or in webinars; audits focusing on People, Processes, and Product representation; engagement with customers; commitment to the Signal Group brand, and of course sales.

By joining the scheme Signal’s distributors will unlock a suite of benefits designed to accelerate growth and improve the levels of service in their domestic markets. Enrolled distributors will be listed on the Signal Group website, and be provided with access to regular training webinars, marketing collateral, and priority in service, sales and marketing support.

Summarising the scheme, Signal’s Simon Corrigan says: “The ultimate goal is to deliver the best possible products and services to our global customers. To achieve that we need to ensure that our distributor staff are highly trained and equipped with the latest information on our gas analysis equipment. This will give them confidence to be pro-active in the market and to be able to respond quickly and effectively to customer needs.”

Connectors for Europe.

Anglia has been named European Regional Distributor of the Year 2021 by Harwin, a world leading manufacturer of high reliability and industry standard interconnect solutions based in Britain. Harwin made the award after the distributor increased its sales significantly during the pandemic, outperforming the market.
L to R: Alisha Norgate, Product Marketing Manager Anglia, Steve Miller, Regional Distribution Sales Manager – EMEA Harwin, David Pearson, Technical Director and Debbie Marriott, Supply Chain Manager, Anglia.

Marking the appointment Steve Miller, Regional Distribution Manager at Harwin, said, “Growing sales significantly is impressive in any year, but doubly so while the country was in the throes of a pandemic and spending part of the year in lockdown. This performance is a real testament not only to the quality of service and technical support offered by Anglia, but also to its willingness to adapt in the face of challenging circumstances. Working together, Harwin and Anglia have managed to maintain supplies to the market, supporting sales growth, despite the well documented supply chain challenges the industry has faced and is continuing to face.”

He added, “A mark of Anglia’s forward thinking approach is that they have expanded their Harwin stocked range with 700 new lines over the last year, supporting each with an investment in inventory.”

John Bowman, Sales and Marketing Director of Anglia, remarked, “Our relationship with Harwin is strong at every level of both organisations – and our ability to grow sales in a difficult market environment is testament to that. In partnership, we have overcome many challenges and maintained supplies to customers as far as possible. Just as importantly we have kept customers informed where difficulties arose. Harwin’s ability to manage its inward supply chain by holding extensive stocks of raw material, and our willingness to hold inventory without necessarily a clear forward order book, have been critical to our joint success this year.”

Anglia Components has been Great Britain and Ireland distributor for Harwin since 2013. Recently added ranges include the Harwin Kona series, 8.5mm pitch connectors’ capable of delivering 60A of current per contact, the highest current rating available today in the Harwin connector portfolio. International distribution for cybersecurity solutions.

Icon Labs has added six distributors for its industry recognized Floodgate cyber security solutions. Icon Labs now has distribution partners worldwide including in Scandinavia, Israel, France, Canada and Britain as well as in the United States.

Icon Labs’ Floodgate Security Framework solution provides a platform for developing secure, connected devices. The platform makes it easy for device developers to incorporate security into the architecture of the device itself and provides security management and visibility, device hardening, data protection, and secure communications. Natively securing the devices themselves provides extra layers of protection, audit, and compliance independent of the secure perimeter, reducing the need for expensive and complicated security appliances.

Icon Labs’ Floodgate Security Framework provides:
• Security policy management
• Event and command audit log reporting
• Integration with the McAfee ePolicy orchestrator (ePO)
• Integrated embedded firewall
• Firmware and intrusion detection support
• Support for RTOS and Embedded Linux based devices

“Modern industrial automation, utilities, and embedded devices are complex connected systems that often perform critical functions,” says Alan Grau, CEO of Icon Labs. “Industry, governments, businesses, etc., have recognized that no longer can they rely on just protecting the network. They need to protect the devices themselves. They are now requesting that security be built into all the various components and devices that make up the network. Even small edge devices can be the entryway for cyber-attacks and need to be protected. Icon Labs and our network of distribution partners are rising to meet that challenge!”

"Our customers tell us that providing cybersecurity is becoming an essential requirement for any device that is connected to the internet. They understand that every day these threats are becoming more dangerous, more critical," says Thierry Le Gall, General Manager of I.S.I.T in France. "By adding the Icon Labs Floodgate Security Framework to our portfolio, we are able provide developers with the ability to effectively build in high quality security into products."

"Icon Labs is the leader in providing cybersecurity - an increasing requirement for embedded systems, particularly in safety-critical and high-integrity world," says Chris Hills, founder and CTO of Phaedrus Systems in the UK. "By adding the Floodgate Security Framework to our portfolio, we are able provide developers with the ability to build security into their architecture."

“The battle against cyber-attack is never ending,” says Tomer Bogin, CEO of ScaleIL in Israel. “The Icon Labs Floodgate platform enables our customers to develop cost effective solutions against a constantly evolving threat menace. Not only does Floodgate provide a defense, it also allows us to monitor the attacks so that we know who and what is doing the attacks.”
