At CeBIT (5-9 March 2012), Rittal and Siemens announced a power distribution solution that uses Siemens busbar distributor systems in Rittal's live data centres.
In the context of their cooperation, Rittal and Siemens are guaranteeing the compatibility of the Siemens Sivacon LD and BD2 busbar distribution systems with the Rittal Ri4Power low-voltage power distribution system in data centre applications. The Sivacon series of busbar distribution systems includes systems ranging from 25A through to 6300A. Rittal, the system provider, links technical infrastructure with an ideally coordinated system solution.
A reliable power supply is vital for business, especially for data centres. Busbar distribution systems are therefore increasingly used for low voltage power distribution in high-performance data centres, since they are a low fire risk and have greater reliability than cables. In addition, they can be adapted to changing requirements in a much more flexible and less costly way, for example, during alterations and extensions.
