Representing a £4.5 million investment by Ion Science, construction of the purpose-built facility, which is located off Butts Lane in Fowlmere, Cambridgeshire (GB), is well underway, with external walls completed and work about to start on the roof.

Duncan Johns, Managing Director at Ion Science comments: “We are delighted to be able to confirm that we are on target to move into our much larger, highly specified head office and plant next spring. We are hugely grateful to the project management company, contractors and Ion Science staff for their support and assistance in meeting critical deadlines.”

In addition to meeting all Ion Science’s current and short/medium term needs, the space and flexible design of the new building also allows for future expansion.

There will be no change of commute over the existing location for employees and it provides visitors with a site that is fitting of the technologically advanced gas detection products supplied by Ion Science.

Duncan continues: “With record sales over the past three months and an annual growth rate of 30%, we have more than outgrown our current facility which can no longer accommodate our needs. The design, manufacturing, sales and administrative capabilities we will be able to access at the new building will allow Ion Science to progress to the next stage of its development.

“It means we can expand our production and sales operations and gives us the necessary space to meet our ambitious growth targets.”
