The ISA Security Compliance Institute (ISCI) has announced that Japan-based KPMG Consulting Co., Ltd. has joined the ISA Security Compliance Institute as a technical member in August 2015.
“Risk management consulting has now grown beyond traditional financial and IT consulting. KPMG is now addressing cybersecurity of industrial automation and control systems (IACS),” remarked Tatsuaki Takebe, KPMG Principal Security Advisor Consultant.
International accounting and management consulting firms have a long history in the areas of regulatory compliance, standards, auditing/assessment and risk management. As requirements for organizational accountability become more prevalent, responsible companies are exploring means for meeting obligations and implementing programs to support those initiatives.
“Interest in the ISASecure industrial automation and control system (IACS) cybersecurity certification program from international accounting and management consulting firms like KPMG is an indication that company boards and C-level management are responding to security and safety risks to operations associated with operational technology cybersecurity,” stated Andre Ristaino, ISCI Managing Director. “We look forward to working the the KPMG team at ISCI.”
