Enhanced Rugged+ TFT display delivers high temperature performance.

A new enhanced 7.0-inch Rugged+ TFT display module has been announced by KOE. The TX18D205VM0BAA features the latest generation of IPS (in-plane switching) technology, WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution and a 15:9 wide aspect ratio, improved optical performance and an extended operating temperature range.

Operation in extreme temperature environments is significantly aided with KOE's latest generation of Rugged+ TFT display modules which support an operating temperature range that has been extended to -40°C to +85°C (an increase over the previously specified -30°C to +80°C). The storage temperature range is also increased to -40°C to +90°C.

Further enhancements to 7.0-inch Rugged+ display module have delivered improved optical, mechanical and environmental performance. KOE's Rugged+ display modules derive their optical and environmental characteristics from the exacting standards used in automotive specification display modules. The 7.0-inch Rugged+ TFT is designed for use in high reliability industrial, medical, marine, automotive and aerospace applications where consistent and guaranteed operation under extreme temperature, mechanical shock and vibration are a necessity.

For dedicated human-machine interface applications, the latest IPS display technology delivers exceptional colour saturation and stability, high contrast and deep black levels with 170° wide viewing angles (vertical and horizontal). The 7.0-inch display features a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a white LED backlight with a brightness of 800cd/m² and a specified 70K hour half-brightness lifetime. These features ensure that display images are exceptionally bright, colourful and concise.

A 40-pin CMOS interface supports 6-bit RGB data which enables a colour palette of up to 262k colours. The 7.0-inch display module has mechanical outline dimensions of 167.7mm (w) x 109.45mm (h) x 9.0mm (d) and an active LCD area of 152.4mm (w) x 91.44 mm (h).

Also introduced, is the 7.0-inch TX18D206VM0BAA display module which features the same mechanical and optical specification but implements a 20-pin LVDS interface.

The new 7.0-inch Rugged+ TX18D205VM0BAA and TX18D206VM0BAA TFT display modules are available immediately from KOE Europe's distribution partners.
