Safety-related automation specialist's growth.

International presence, digital and solution expertise further expanded.

Despite a challenging market environment, the HIMA Group has continued its growth in 2025. Revenue rose by 2.4 percent to 190.5 million euros. The Group was thus able to continue its growth course even in an environment marked by geopolitical uncertainties, investment caution, and regional market weakness.

The positive revenue trend was particularly driven by international expansion. This offset declines caused by market weakness in the process industry within the DACH home market. At the same time, negative currency effects weighed on growth outside the eurozone. Order intake declined slightly due to subdued investment activity in many markets.

LtoR: Jörg de la Motte (CEO), Steffen Philipp (Shareholder), Dr. Michael Löbig (CFO)

“We have achieved slight growth in a significantly more challenging environment. This demonstrates the resilience of our business model,” says Jörg de la Motte, CEO of the HIMA Group. “At the same time, we see that investment decisions are taking longer in many markets and that some projects are being postponed. This makes it all the more important that we have systematically expanded our international presence, our digital capabilities, and our role as a solutions provider.”

Regionally, dependence on the domestic market (DACH) continued to decline. The DACH region’s share of revenue stood at 21 percent, compared to 24 percent in the previous year. Other EU countries contributed 19 percent, Asia-Pacific 16 percent, the Middle East 13 percent, the United Kingdom and Norway 12 percent each, and the Americas 7 percent. As a result, HIMA now generates 79 percent of its revenue outside the DACH region.

“We recorded slight revenue growth, but at the same time, we are taking the decline in order intake dynamics very seriously,” explains Dr. Michael Löbig, CFO of the HIMA Group. “We are planning for further revenue growth in 2026, but from today’s perspective, we cannot yet fully confirm this growth path. In light of geopolitical risks, currency effects, and investment reluctance in certain markets, we remain cautious.”

Sustainability.
A key milestone is the publication of the HIMA Group’s first sustainability report for the 2025 fiscal year. Although the company is not subject to mandatory reporting requirements, the report summarizes its commitment to environmental, social responsibility, and corporate governance activities.

“As a family-owned business, HIMA pursues economic, environmental, and social goals to operate successfully and responsibly in the long term while creating sustainable prospects for the next generation,” explains Steffen Philipp, shareholder of the HIMA Group. “From a shareholder’s perspective, sustainable, profitable growth is a decisive factor in this regard.”

Global initiatives include measures to reduce CO₂ emissions, more sustainable trade show concepts, electric vehicle charging stations for employees, local environmental and community projects, as well as programs for employee development, diversity, and compliance.

Integration of Sella Controls and Origo Solutions.
The HIMA Group’s strategic development in 2025 was characterized by internationalization, digitalization, and the expansion of solution expertise. The integration of Sella Controls, which has been part of the HIMA Group since February 2023, has been successfully completed. Sella Controls is positioned within the Group as a center of excellence for rail technology. Key project milestones include the completion of the Nexus Tyne & Wear Metro SCADA modernization project in Newcastle and a contract to modernize the railway infrastructure at the Chemelot Industrial Park in the Netherlands.

The integration of Origo Solutions, which has been part of the HIMA Group since February 2024, is also well advanced and more than 90 percent complete. Origo Solutions particularly strengthens the Group’s presence in Scandinavia while enhancing its expertise in traditional and renewable energy markets. With the new HIMA Digital unit, the digitalization strategy is also entering its next phase under the motto #safetygoesdigital.

International expansion and strategic partnerships.
International expansion has also continued to advance. In China, the new headquarters in Shanghai was officially opened in December 2025. Following the opening of HIMA India in November 2024, the company’s presence will be further expanded in the near future. In Latin America, HIMA opened new entities in Colombia and Peru. Colombia serves as a hub in Latin America with a focus on the process industry, while the branch in Lima supports projects in Peru and neighboring countries.

Expanding strategic partnerships remains a key component of the strategy to become a solutions provider. Collaboration with genua in the HIMA Security Lab has been intensified. Together with Samson, HIMA is developing joint HIPS and pipeline management solutions for the hydrocarbon and chemical industries. The long-standing collaboration with Valmet is being further deepened in the energy, pulp, and paper sectors. Together with Hilscher, HIMA combines functional safety with industrial communication for embedded systems. In collaboration with DEUTA-Werke, the SafeHMI solution—powered by IconTrust—was developed to enhance operator and display safety in the process industry and rail sector; it is fully integrated into the HIMA Safety Platform.

Further opportunities.
For the current fiscal year, the HIMA Group continues to anticipate a challenging environment. Geopolitical conflicts, currency effects, and investment caution may delay or postpone projects and services. At the same time, HIMA sees long-term opportunities, particularly in investments in energy infrastructure, renewable energy, hydrogen, pipeline expansions, and the digitalization of safety-critical processes.

With HIMA Digital, the HIMA Group is consolidating its expertise in digital solutions. At the heart of this is hima360, an independent, open digital platform based on SCADA+ that connects safety-related data, applications, and services across the safety lifecycle.

“The market environment remains volatile,” says Jörg de la Motte. “At the same time, the demand for functional safety, OT security, and digital solutions is growing. This is exactly where we’re focusing our efforts with the new HIMA Digital unit.”

Automation parts growth in APAC.

Automation parts supplier EU Automation is expanding its operations in APAC and the Far East, following a rapid growth in demand for its services in the region. The company specialises in supplying rare, reconditioned and unused parts to companies worldwide. It has experienced an impressive 1450% growth in turnover at its regional hub in Singapore in the last five years, prompting investment in larger premises and a strengthening of its global leadership team.

“Our customers’ best interests are always our first priority,” comments Darren Halford, Managing Director of EU Automation. “The investment in new premises, coupled with two strategic appointments, marks a new phase in our business’s mission to supply the manufacturing world with industry-leading parts and service at speed. It highlights EU Automation’s continuing commitment to global manufacturing and supports our mission to help customers avoid unnecessary downtime and save millions in lost revenue.”

Two strategic appointments form part of this new phase in EU Automation’s evolution.

John Young will soon return to Britain, having accepted a promotion to Group Sales Director. He says: “Although it is with a heavy heart that I am leaving the Singapore branch after an incredible five and a half years together, I know the team will continue to thrive. I am looking forward to the challenge of a new role and am thrilled to return to the UK as Group Sales Director.”

Neil Ballinger has accepted the role of Head of Global Operations. Based in the Britain, Neil has worked at EU Automation for over nine years and brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise to his new role. Neil says: “I am honoured to be leading our global operations during an exciting phase in the company’s development. The people who work within our global operations teams are vital to our continued success and our ability to reliably serve some of the largest manufacturers around the world.”

EU Automation currently supports more than 50,000 customers worldwide and sources over two million parts annually. Singapore is a strategic hub for the company, facilitating parts distribution into Asia Pacific, the Far East, and other areas of the world. The growth in demand for its services in the region is driven in part by global trends such as sustainability and the circular economy, but it is also the result of hard work from their dedicated Singapore team, who have built trusted relationships with multiple customers under the leadership of John Young.

As General Manager of the Singapore APAC office for the last five and a half years, John has overseen rapid business growth and expanded the team by 450%. As a result, EU Automation is now investing in larger premises at the Far East Finance Building in Singapore.

The new accommodation will enable the company to employ more account managers and native language speakers to serve the wider APAC region and deal with growing demand. The move will therefore ensure that EU Automation continues to provide the best, most efficient, service to their customers, by maintaining an agile business that can respond quickly to changing industry conditions.

Sensors for asia.

Leuze has opened its new production site in Malacca (Malaysia) within a construction time of just 16 months. With immediate effect, Leuze sensors will be produced there for the international market. Leuze's Asian customers are primarily supplied from Malaysia

Based on 2020, sales of the Leuze electronic group should double again by 2025. For Sensor People, the construction of their new Leuze production site in Malacca (Malaysia) represents a key element in their global growth strategy. Furthermore, a milestone in the company's history. Construction of the new building, which involved many local partners, began in January 2021. Just 16 months later– in April 2022 – the plant was completed and, after a successful start-up phase, is to be officially opened in July.

To be able to meet the high global demand for its sensors and ensure a short delivery time, Leuze will double its production capacities by the end of the year. To this end, the company is implementing a strategy based on multiple production locations. "This will allow us to not only further improve our delivery capability but also optimize our international logistics flows," explains Sebastian Raible, Managing Director of Leuze electronic Malaysia and on-site project manager of the construction project. We implement the philosophy of process equality. This means that all production facilities worldwide are organized in the same process: same temperature, same humidity, same pressure.

“The work islands are built, tested, and duplicated in Germany and are then used all over the world," explains Jochen Wimmer, COO of the Leuze electronic group.

The production and warehouse logistics facilities covering an area of 4,500 square meters make up the bulk of the new plant. An additional 1,000 square meters are used for administration purposes. Areas totalling 7,000 square meters are available for a second expansion phase. Starting with 85 new local workers. By the end of the year, there will be over 100. With the growth of the plant, another 100 new employees are to be recruited in the first expansion phase. More will follow in the second expansion phase.

Curtain up for new brand identity.

"Showcasing ourselves in a state-of-the-art way, with clear lines and a high recognition value!"

The Austrian sensor manufacturer, E+E Elektronik, has presented itself with a new corporate design. But the company is remaining true to its brand promise "your partner in sensor technology". Innovative products, cooperative relationships and sustainable action – this is what E+E Elektronik has embodied for more than 40 years.  Today, the Austrian sensor manufacturer is one of the world's leading suppliers of sensors for a wide range of measured variables. As a visible sign of its continuous development and advancing internationalisation, the company is now taking to the stage with a fresh corporate design.

Concise logo, clear message
While modernising the brand identity, care was taken to continue central key elements of the previous look. The new logo was reduced to its essential constituents. The familiar green "E+E" and the slogan "your partner in sensor technology" have been retained and shifted into the focus. With this core message, the company, which now has more than 400 employees, is underscoring its commitment to long-term partnerships with its customers, sales partners and suppliers.

Managing Directors Kindlhofer and Timelthaler

"Our promise 'your partner in sensor technology', means that we focus on our customers, business partners and employees alike. We live a partnership at eye level," say the two managing directors Heinz Kindlhofer and Wolfgang Timelthaler.

Committed to the new look
The worldwide changeover of internal and external communication media and channels to the new image is being rolled out gradually and with a view to conserving resources. In addition to its headquarters in Engerwitzdorf, the company now has six subsidiaries around the globe. The aim of the new branding is to create a consistent, clear and internationally comprehensible brand image.

"Thanks to our new image, we can showcase ourselves in a state-of-the-art way, with clear lines and a high recognition value. Over the years, we have continued to develop and expand our global presence. Now is the right time for us to use our new corporate design to communicate our brand promise even more strongly to the outside world and make it more visible," says the board.

Twenty five years in sensors.

Originally founded by Scientist and Entrepreneur Paul Gotley OBE in 1996, Alphasense started life in small premises in Great Dunmow, Essex, (GB). Paul’s daughter, Andrea Gotley, soon took over day-to-day business operations with her father overseeing proceedings in his role as Chairman. A series of astute joint ventures and key research links with British universities enabled Alphasense to develop new technologies and sensor products that opened the door to opportunities in air quality and gas safety markets.

Today, Alphasense operates from a purpose-built manufacturing facility in Great Notley. The company is profitable, with an annual turnover in excess of £20m, largely due to the operational efficiency and global business development established over the last decade or so. The Alphasense product range still includes the company’s bestselling gas safety Oxygen and PPM toxic sensors but is now complemented by a suite of PPB sensors allied with Optical Particle Counters and Photo Ionisation Detectors for air quality applications.

Research and Development is led by Technical Director, Ronan Baron, whose passion for environmental air quality monitoring fuels much of the product innovation and technical strategy at Alphasense. One such air quality innovation project recently led to the launch of two new VOC electrochemical sensors, strengthening the company’s growing air quality product range and offering a lower-maintenance air quality sensor option at an affordable price.

Commercially focused innovation is just one of the reasons customers choose to work with Alphasense. Sensor performance and reliability are key focuses for the Operations team, whose ‘LEAN manufacturing’ approach prioritises efficiency without compromising quality. The ‘LEAN’ methodology allows the team to manufacture and stock a comprehensive range of sensor products. Customer orders are dispatched quickly to a global customer base by an in-house fulfilment team.

The Alphasense Technical Support team is always on hand to assist with further product support, offering a consultative service when customers enquire about a new product idea or adaptation to an existing product. The company’s growth strategy revolves around three core pillars: science, sales, and manufacturing. The fusion of these three elements will remain a foundation that current Alphasense CEO, Peter Saxton, who Andrea Gotley brought in to oversee and implement her succession plan, believes is key to the company’s continued success.

A recent recruitment drive is further evidence of Saxton’s confidence in the long-term success of Alphasense. As well as bringing onboard new members of the Sales & Marketing team to help service and grow the company’s global sales territories, the Technical team has also invested in several new in-house scientists who each bring their own specialist knowledge and expertise to the table.

Alphasense is a business very much looking to the future but with an appreciation of its past. Twenty-five years after Paul Gotley started the company, his daughter Andrea has total confidence that her father’s dedication to high-quality sensor products and excellent customer service is in safe hands. With public awareness of air quality issues at an all-time high, Alphasense is well-placed to continue supporting its customers by designing and manufacturing high-performance gas and air quality sensors that improve living conditions for communities worldwide and, ultimately, save lives.

One billion in 23 years!

Sensirion is celebrating another milestone in the company’s history. Today, the billionth sensor left production. This success has only been possible thanks to the excellent cooperation between employees, suppliers and customers.

They hit the one billion mark on Wednesday 8th July 2021 with an SCD4x CO2 sensor – a major milestone in what is still a fairly short company history. Almost 23 years ago, Sensirion was established as an off-shoot of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, laying the foundations for the success of this Swiss company. In just a few years, the sensor manufacturer established itself as the market leader in the field of humidity and temperature sensor technology. The company’s mission is to make a lasting difference in the world by improving the energy efficiency of applications and the health, safety and comfort of people through smart sensor technology.

Marc von Waldkirch
“Our success is based on the outstanding performance of all our employees as well as Sensirion’s unique corporate culture. I am very proud of this milestone and at the same time confident that there will be many more in the future,” says Marc von Waldkirch, CEO of Sensirion AG. “The global trend toward digitalization is making it possible to develop novel solutions that can support people and the environment in more and more areas of daily life. Sensor technology plays a key role here.”

Around 80% of the sensors produced to date come from humidity and temperature sensor technology. In addition, Sensirion has also greatly expanded its product portfolio in recent years and now offers groundbreaking sensor solutions in various markets that enable new applications or solve problems in existing applications. So it is not surprising that the billionth sensor is an SCD4x CO2  sensor. This disruptive sensor solution demonstrates Sensirion’s exceptional innovative strength: Sensirion was the first company to successfully launch a miniaturized CO2  sensor for indoor air quality applications. Thanks to a revolutionary measurement principle, the size of the sensor could be reduced sevenfold. The cost optimization associated with this, combined with the sensor size, enables completely new applications in the field of CO2  sensor technology. A symbol of the course this high-tech company has steered.

40 years managing lab info!

Autoscribe celebrates 40 years in business this year, making it one of the earliest suppliers of LIMS.

Founded in 1981, Autoscribe Ltd is a privately owned British Company. Over the years it has expanded to have staff and offices in USA and Australia as well as a network of distributors worldwide. Autoscribe remains a family business with three generations of the Boother family involved, and the same customer centric values as 40 years ago. The Matrix product has evolved over that time from being supplied on floppy disks and running on 1980s computer technology, to the current solution running on modern 64-bit servers with browser or desktop applications that support on-premise or cloud deployment.

The common theme of the founding father, John Boother, has always been the need for flexibility. From his laboratory experience he knew that no two laboratories were ever the same. Each had unique requirements in the way they worked, from the type of sample information captured during registration, to the data needed to be shown during result approval and the test reports generated. Consequently, even from the early days of Matrix LIMS, flexibility was key to the product.

The current Matrix Gemini LIMS v6.0 continues to provide users with an ultra-flexible configuration interface. Changes can be made to any screen in the system by the users themselves. Changes, having been approved, are available for all users. The configurable web-based interface provides an ability to work remotely, from anywhere, while still preserving this ultra-flexible configuration capability. Uniquely among LIMS vendors, even changes made by users are fully supported by Autoscribe through direct expert-led helpdesk support. The underlying software is never touched or modified by the users allowing software updates to be easily applied without corrupting modified screens or workflows. Configuration is done using the built-in editing tools; coding skills (such as C#, html or Java) are not required. This allows clients to change the system to suit their needs while preserving the ability to upgrade to new versions of the software to take advantage of new and improved features, all in the safe knowledge that their support agreements are never compromised.

40 years on Autoscribe is listening to its laboratory customers and driving Matrix LIMS forward to meet those needs. “I’m excited about the trajectory of Autoscribe and how we are winning business across a broad range of industries and laboratory types,” said John Boother, Chairman of Autoscribe Informatics. “I’m proud that at its core Matrix LIMS remains as flexible today as our vision for it was at the beginning of this journey. It is as suitable for Companies with a single small laboratory or multinationals, with multiple laboratories on multiple sites. A truly scalable solution whether on-premise or cloud based. Both our underlying software and our configured market specific starter systems continue to rapidly evolve to meet new challenges. Autoscribe is poised to help drive the laboratory industry forward in the 2020s, and beyond, just as much as in those early days.”

From sheet metal to digital leader!

It is April 1, 1961, when an international success story begins in a small weaving mill in central Hesse - the standardization of enclosures. Rudolf Loh founds the Rittal company and changes the industry with one idea.

Rudolf Loh

What was initially smiled at is now a phenomenon: The standard enclosure is used in millions of product solutions in over 90 percent of all industries worldwide. Rittal is the innovation and world market leader for enclosure technology and IT infrastructure. 10,000 employees worldwide work on new innovations, industry solutions and business models. A small steel manufacturing company has become a global digital enterprise. What hasn't changed: Rittal is a family business - responsibility, solidarity and social commitment have always been a top priority.

Rittershausen in Dietzhölztal - no one knew in 1961 that a small township in central Hesse would one day give its name to a global company. Rudolf Loh bought an old weaving mill and founded Rittal.

The idea: standard enclosures in standard production, immediately available from stock, faster and better than the individually manufactured enclosures for control components of machines at that time. Long delivery times and quality defects were now a thing of the past. The boom of the post-war years had changed industrial manufacturing. Machines were interconnected and produced products in large series in the wake of growing consumption.

So, Rudolf Loh's idea came just at the right time.

A lot has happened since then - Read On:

Holding steady through 2021.

Endress+Hauser has weathered the crisis year 2020 in good shape. However, the Group’s consolidated sales fell – strongly influenced by exchange rate effects – by almost 3 percent to just under €2.6 billion. Even a strong laboratory business could only partially offset the shortfalls in process automation, which was hit harder by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.*

Bridging  the physical distance to customers in
the pandemic with digital & emotional proximity
.
While sales development last year fell well short of targets, the Group maintained profits at a strong level. “Endress+Hauser’s financial solidity has not suffered during the crisis,” emphasized Chief Financial Officer Dr Luc Schultheiss. The company was able to avoid short-time work and even slightly increased employment. At the end of 2020, Endress+Hauser had more than 14,400 employees worldwide, over 100 more than a year ago.

Endress+Hauser has always remained able to deliver despite the pandemic. “We have bridged the physical distance to our customers with digital and emotional proximity,” said Chief Executive Officer Matthias Altendorf. He sees the company as well equipped, even if the next few months continue to be dominated by the coronavirus crisis: “Our innovative strength is unbroken. Endress+Hauser will launch more product innovations in 2021 than ever before.”

The impact of the pandemic continues to affect individual market regions, customer industries and fields of activity very differently. Nevertheless, Endress+Hauser has made a good start to the current year. The Group expects growth in the single-digit percentage range in 2021 but sees profits under increased pressure. The company does not expect a fundamental recovery in the global economy until the end of the year.

Good performance last year but unpredictable 2020.

“We bridge the physical distance through digital and emotional proximity.” - Altendorf

Dr Klaus Endress (left), President of the
Supervisory Board of the E+H Group,
and Matthias Altendorf, CEO.
Endress+Hauser performed well across all fields of activity, industries and regions in 2019. The Group created hundreds of new jobs, invested record amounts and improved in the area of sustainability. According to CEO Matthias Altendorf, the family company is thus in a strong position to address the challenges of the corona crisis.

“2019 was a solid year for Endress+Hauser,” emphasized Matthias Altendorf. “Growth was broad-based and balanced.” The group increased net sales by 8.0 percent to 2.652 billion euros, despite a weakening economy. During the annual media conference on financial statements in Basel, the CEO explained that instead of large-scale orders, this growth was driven by smaller and medium-sized projects.

According to the CEO, this success is also tied to the company’s undiminished innovative spirit. In 2019 Endress+Hauser filed 318 patent applications and invested 7.6 percent of sales in research and development. More than 1,100 people are working on new products, solutions and services. By the end of 2019 Endress+Hauser had 14,328 employees worldwide. 400 new jobs have been created within one year.

In 2019, Asia provided strong growth impulses. Europe performed well and South America recorded excellent growth. North America fell behind expectations, however, while the business in Africa and the Middle East declined. China overtook Germany based on sales volume and just trails the US, which continues to be the largest sales market for Endress+Hauser. According to Chief Financial Officer Dr Luc Schultheiss, the Group companies were able to gain market share.

And the future!
Endress+Hauser started 2020 with a further increase in incoming orders. However, the coronavirus pandemic makes it massively more difficult to achieve the original goals. “Although we are still unable to predict the economic impacts of the crisis, we and our customers will certainly feel the effects,” underlined the CEO. The Group responded early to the spread of the virus and used all means at its disposal to protect people’s health and continue to offer customers solid support.

“We bridge the physical distance through digital and emotional proximity,” said Matthias Altendorf. The CEO has been driving digitization at Endress+Hauser for years – in the product and services areas, as well as in customer interaction and internal collaboration. At peak periods, up to 10,000 employees are currently working from home.

Eddy current testing for training institute.

Rohmann GmbH has been working closely with training institutions for a long time. This has ranged from common research projects with universities in the field of non-destructive testing by eddy current up to visits from apprentices and university students at their headquarters in Frankenthal (D).
Petra Rohmann, Thomas Schwabe, Holger Nowak (DGZfP) and Jürgen Lauer.
It is important for us to demonstrate the diversity of testing tasks and solutions with eddy current using practical examples and to arouse interest in non-destructive testing.

On February 19, 2020, together with Thomas Schwabe and Jürgen Lauer, Petra Rohmann, managing director of Rohmann GmbH, visited the Training Center of the DGZfP in Magdeburg.

She brought two new ELOTEST PL600 eddy current testing instruments with her. Petra Rohmann appreciates the work of the DGZfP and was happy to support the training center by loaning two inline testing instruments to them. Changes in management at imaging leader.

Daniel Seiler, Managing Director of IDS Imaging since 2015, will leave the company at his own request after 14 years. In various roles, he has made a significant contribution to the company's success in recent years, including the development of the North American business.

Jan Hartmann
Jürgen Hartmann, founder and owner of the leading industrial camera manufacturer, will remain Managing Director and will continue Daniel Seiler's main operational tasks from March 1, 2020. At the same time, Jan Hartmann, eldest son of the company founder, joins the IDS management board as the second family generation. This underlines the independence of the family business. In addition to his existing tasks in the recently founded sister company IDS Innovation GmbH with its associated "b39 Academy", Jan Hartmann will be responsible for the human resources, finance and IT divisions.

Alexander Lewinsky, who has been Head of Operations since 2018, joins the extended management team and will be given a procuration authority.

"We would like to thank Daniel Seiler for his successful work, which he has always carried out with great commitment and reliability. In particular, he had great success in the internationalisation of the core business. We regret his decision but we would like to wish him all the best for his private and professional future," underlined Jürgen Hartmann. "With this rejuvenation of the IDS management team, we are very confident about the future. Based on the positive order situation and the strong development of international business we are looking ahead to the VISON year with great optimism."

New location reflects and facilitates significent growth.

Abaco Systems has completed its move into its new headquarters, which significantly expands its footprint in Huntsville (AL USA).  The new location hosts a significant new Engineering Innovation Center, a purpose-built training facility, and close proximity to key customers. Abaco’s new headquarters has space available for further expansion in line with the company’s continued growth.

The move provides Abaco with the head room and resources that will allow the company to continue to develop the innovative embedded computing technologies and solutions that have enabled it to become a leading supplier to the defense market, with longstanding relationships with all major primes and tier-1 suppliers.

“Increased demand for electronics content to power contemporary platforms is driving significant growth at Abaco,” said Rich Sorelle, President and CEO. “Our expertise in areas such as modular, open-standards architectures; rugged reliability and advanced thermal management; artificial intelligence, machine learning and autonomy; software tools; high performance video and graphics; and advanced, secure networking has earned us positions on national asset platforms. Our new Engineering Innovation Center will accelerate these efforts and bring more value to our customers.”

Acquiring the new facility enables Abaco to expand the company’s manufacturing capacity at its original headquarters at Memorial Parkway SW. It also allows Abaco to respond to growing customer demand for shorter lead times as defense technology programs come under increasing pressure to move from conception to deployment more rapidly.

“This expansion is a milestone for Abaco and evidence of the continued success and growth of our business,” continued Sorelle. “We look for the most talented people to join us in our mission to solve our customers’ most complex embedded computing challenges. We believe the quality of our new facilities and the attractive location will prove to be a major draw to prospective employees.”

Huntsville is well known as a key location within the aerospace and defense industry, with high profile companies including Boeing, DRS, Georgia Tech Research Institute, L-3, Leonardo, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon – all of whom Abaco counts as customers – having a presence in the city.
