Delivering operational excellence forum

GE-IP Third Annual Executive Forum on delivering operational excellence.

GE Intelligent Platforms recently hosted its third annual executive forum on “Delivering Operational Excellence” in GE’s Corporate offices in London (GB). Attendees participated in discussion about what GE, and other companies, are doing to tie operations management to business goals and how Proficy software drives real-time decision-making and enables lean operations.

This is the third year this event has run in London, a response to the building need of regional and global manufacturers to find solutions to the ever-increasing business challenges they face. GE has hosted and engaged resources from across GE to bring the most value possible to the event attendees.

Mark Elborne, President & CEO of GE UK, Ireland Benelux, served as Keynote Speaker at the Forum. “GE’s expertise in Operational Excellence positions us as a trusted partner that can bring the necessary products and methodologies to help customers reduce costs and improve their operations around the world,” he said. In addition, GE Intelligent Platforms customer John Kidson, Executive Director of Manufacturing for Aberdare Cables spoke about their specific operational excellence journey using the Proficy Platform. Aberdare is the largest producer of Power, Telecommunications and Optical Fiber Cables in South Africa and is a leader in solutions for the infrastructure build, mining, construction and general industrial sectors.

Attendees gained valuable insight based on shared expertise and experience to help them on their journey toward Operational Excellence. They were able to network with other business leaders in manufacturing to discuss strategies, solutions, and tactics that drive out waste and costs. In addition, they heard what GE and other companies are doing to achieve Operational Excellence and the role that technologies like the Proficy Software platform play in delivering it. GE’s Proficy* software helps manufacturers improve the operator experience and drive Operational Excellence.
“GE expects to realize more than $500 million in benefits over the next three to five years from using Proficy Software solutions to drive operational excellence,” said Charlene Begley, President & CEO, GE Home & Business Solutions, GE Senior Vice President & CIO.

Proficy is an example of how GE’s $4 billion-a-year software and solutions services businesses are helping customers improve productivity.
