Component flexibility for mechanical engineering.

Baumüller certifies converters for PROFINET IRT and clears the way for greater productivity, better system availability and maximum flexibility.

Communication is everything. This is the case whether in the sphere of human relations or in the interaction of individual components in production systems. With the open Ethernet standard PROFINET, Baumüller is building on a flexible, secure and continuous communication topology. This year Baumüller certified its b maXX 5000 servo drives under the most current standard for PROFINET IRT.

PROFINET the open Industrial Ethernet Standard enables flexible design capabilities in connectivity and machine topology. Applications that require fast communication via Ethernet and industrial IT functions especially benefit from maximum precision and reliability with the fieldbus.

The IRT (Isochronous Real-Time) protocol in drive technology allows clock-synchronous data exchange with cycle times under 1 ms for high-precision motion control in drive technology.

Along with the real time-capable EtherCAT fieldbus, Baumüller offers different bus systems for the servo system b maXX 5500 such as CANopen, VARAN, Modbus TCP, PROFINET IRT, EtherNET / IP or Powerlink. This makes Baumüller drive technology particularly flexible and enables combination with system components from different manufacturers.

The b maXX 5000 family from Baumüller includes both stackable devices and powerful mono units. The compact feed, feedback and axis units can be quickly and easily combined using an integrated drive-connect system and are available in air, water and oil cooling methods. With optional safety packs, all devices in this series can be easily adapted to meet your individual safety needs.
