Very thin display panel.

A new ultra-thin 10.1-inch IPS TFT display panel designed for industrial and commercial applications is available from Inelco Hunter. The display is just 1.1mm thick, with a maximum overall thickness of 6.6mm, including the frame. By comparison, conventional TFT display modules typically have a screen thickness of 1.7mm to 3.0mm or more.

Ultra-thin construction is just one of the advantages of their In-Cell touch technology. By integrating the touch sensor directly into the LCD, the display delivers superior optical performance with higher light transmittance and lower reflectance than traditional glass-on-glass touch panel solutions. The result is a brighter display with improved image clarity and enhanced outdoor readability.

The display is ideal for applications where installation space is limited, including compact home automation controllers, portable medical equipment, handheld industrial instruments, and other space-constrained embedded systems. The 10.1-inch panel features IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology, providing excellent colour accuracy, wide viewing angles, and consistent image quality. IPS technology aligns the liquid crystal molecules parallel to the display surface, enabling more efficient light transmission and superior viewing performance.

The resolution is 1200 x 1920 RGB pixels with 450 nits brightness (450 cd/m2) and a full viewing angle, normally black. The display has MIPI interface. The Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) is 20,000 (25°C, IF=80mA). The operating temperature is -20°C to +70°C and the drive IC is a IL79600A-XA (or compatible IC). The panel has overall dimensions of 248mm x 166mm.

In addition to offering the display as a standard product, Inelco Hunter offers a customisation service to help customers to adapt products for their own solutions. Inelco Hunter’s engineering team can help customers define the project requirements, including as-yet unformed product ideas, turning a concept into an outstanding product. This added-value support is at the core of Inelco Hunter’s philosophy, and has been for over 30 years, setting them apart from the "stock and ship" distributors.

RTP Touch Display.

A new 4.3 inch IPS TFT display panel designed for industrial and embedded applications has been introduced by Inelco Hunter. It features high brightness and a wide viewing angle, making it suitable for HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems. The 4.3 inch display features IPS (In-Plane Switching) which is a high-performance liquid crystal display (LCD) technology known for superior colour accuracy and wide viewing angles. IPS liquid crystals rotate parallel to the display surface to improve light transmission. The TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) display uses active-matrix LCDs technology to provide sharp, high-contrast, and fast-refreshing visuals.

The 4.3 inch size makes the panels ideal for applications requiring a smaller screen, such as point-of-sale screens, EV charging stations, industrial instrumentation, vending machines, smart home control panels and medical devices. The resolution is 800 x 480 RGB pixels with 1,000 nits brightness (1,000 cd/m2) and a 178° full viewing angle, normally black. The display has a parallel RGB interface with SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) configuration and a wide input voltage range of 5V to 15V.

The display features integrated V-Com (Common Voltage). V-Com is an adjustment for optimised display contrast and brightness.plus backlight power on the flexible connector ribbon. The Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) is 50,000 (25°C, IF=80mA). The operating temperature is -20°C to +70°C and the drive IC is an ST72568 (or compatible IC). The panel has overall dimensions of 105mm x 67mm.

Display with IPS.

A new 3.5 inch TFT display featuring IPS (In-Plane Switching) has been introduced by Inelco Hunter. IPS is a high-performance liquid crystal display (LCD) technology known for superior colour accuracy and wide viewing angles. IPS liquid crystals rotate parallel to the display surface to improve light transmission. The main features of the display include VGA resolution, an SPI interface and 500nits brightness.

All of the usual features are now available in a 3.5 inch high-resolution format. This size makes the touch panels ideal for applications requiring a smaller screen, such as industrial instrumentation, vending machines, point-of-sale screens, EV charging stations, smart home control panels and medical devices.

The LCM (Liquid Crystal Display Module) has a thickness of 3.2mm, with 12 backlight LEDs and a typical current consumption of 40mA. The display resolution is 640 * 480 pixels (RGB, 24-bit colour). The LCM has a 24-bit RGB parallel display interface, and SPI (configuration). The brightness is 500 cd/m2 and the MTBF is 50,000 hours. The display offers a full viewing angle, normally black. The operating temperature is -20°C to +70°C. The drive IC is an NV3052CGRB (or compatible IC).

In addition to offering the displays as a standard product, Inelco Hunter offers a customisation service to help customers to adapt products for their own solutions. Inelco Hunter’s engineering team can help customers define the project requirements, including as-yet unformed product ideas, turning a concept into an outstanding product. TFT display modules.

A comprehensive range of medium-sized TFT displays that are suitable for a broad range of industry sectors, applications and operating environments has been announced by Review Display Systems (RDS). The company can design-in, support and supply a wide range of popular, industry-standard TFT display modules in 5-inch to 12-inch sizes providing an extensive range of versatile display solutions with a wide range of display resolutions, high brightness options, interface types and value-added features.

Brightness specifications of 300cd/m² up to high luminance 1000cd/m² versions are supported with long-lifetime LED backlights. High brightness specifications ensure image clarity and readability in direct sunlight, essential for outdoor kiosks, navigation systems, and industrial use. For extreme operating environments, an extended operating temperature range of -30°C to +85°C is also supported.

A variety of display interfaces are available to suit different connectivity and applications needs. Common data interfaces include CMOS, RGB, LVDS, eDP and MIPI. LVDS is popular in industrial applications due to its low power consumption and robust high-speed data transfer capabilities.

Justin Coleman, display business manager, RDS said, “Review Display Systems can design-in, support and supply, a wide range of cost-effective TFT display modules with a variety of on-board features and value-add options. The broad product range of medium-size displays between 5 and 12-inches continue to be a popular choice for many industrial-based, user interface applications and provide excellent cost performance with guaranteed continuity of supply.”

Medium size TFT displays, in the 5-inch to 12-inch size range, are widely used because they offer a balance between portability, visibility and can provide a cost-effective display solution. These displays can easily be customised with a cover glass or a resistive and multi-touch projected capacitive touchscreen, depending on the application requirements. Touch interfaces are essential for creating interactive user interfaces, while cover glass offers additional display protection and durability.

Optical bonding and UV protection options can further enhance the functionality of these displays. Optical bonding improves visibility by reducing internal reflections and increasing contrast, which is particularly beneficial in high-brightness environments. UV protection ensures longevity by preventing damage from prolonged exposure to sunlight, making these displays a robust choice for outdoor applications.

A significant advantage of this broad range of TFT display modules is the long-term product availability. Continuity of supply is imperative for industrial, medical and operation-critical applications, where equipment needs to remain functional, dependable and maintain compatibility with existing systems over many years. Long-term support ensures that these displays can be sourced consistently, reducing the risk of obsolescence and retaining product quality and reliability.
