LABOM are offering a new type diaphragm seal made of plastic, the DD8040 series. When measuring solid-free, neutral, and aggressive liquid media, the plastic diaphragm seal offers a technologically useful additional option that complements the LABOM portfolio of stainless steel diaphragm seals. Thus, it enables a cost-efficient solution for pressure measurement in the fields of wastewater treatment, semi-conductor technology, electroplating, and chemical plant construction.
The DD8040 features an EPDM diaphragm, coated with PTFE on the side in contact with the medium. Synthetic oil is used as the filling liquid. The top part of the body, which contains the connection for the measuring device, is made of orange-coloured polypropylene reinforced with glass-fibre (colour code RAL 2004).
The bottom part with the process connection is available in several versions. Depending on the basic material, the DD8040 diaphragm seal is suitable for various temperature ranges. The PVC-U version can be used between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius, the PP version between 10 and 80 degrees Celsius, and the PVDF version from minus 30 to 120 degrees Celsius, with the exact temperature ranges depending on the process pressure being measured.
DD8040 is available with a G1/2” or G1/4” inside thread for the process connection. It is particularly suitable for use with mechanical pressure measurement devices, typically manometers with 100-millimetre or 63-millimetre connections. Optionally, it can also be supplied in combination with a pressure transmitter.
