Towards fostering sustainable development.

Yokogawa has joined the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). By joining this organisation, Yokogawa anticipates being able to accelerate its efforts to foster sustainability and thereby help to achieve the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Overview
WBCSD is a CEO-led organisation of almost 200 global companies that aims to have a positive impact on business, the environment, and society by encouraging the pursuit of sustainable practices. In so doing, it aims to accelerate the transition to a sustainable world and ensure the long-term success of its member companies.

The decision to join this organisation is driven by an awareness of the need for a response to the pressing environmental issues that we all face. By working to achieve the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources and introducing practices such as recycling, we can play a role in ensuring a more sustainable future for all. We believe that our membership in this organization will allow us to develop a better grasp of global market trends and develop tools and other solutions that businesses can use to enhance their sustainability.

Takashi Nishijima, Yokogawa’s CEO, stated: “We are honored to become a member of WBCSD and to work together with it to realise a sustainable society. Joining WBCSD is a step forward in these efforts. We take seriously our responsibility to address environmental issues and other challenges that the world faces today, and are eager to contribute toward the realisation of a better world by using our knowledge and capabilities in collaboration with our fellow WBCSD members.”

Peter Bakker, WBCSD President and CEO also commented,  “WBCSD is proud to welcome Yokogawa. Their pledge to become a company that strives to drive the transition to a sustainable society makes Yokogawa and WBCSD a perfect fit. We look forward to supporting Yokogawa in this goal. We are also pleased to support them as they innovate and implement new business solutions for addressing global challenges, such as a changing climate and the shortage of water resources.”
