A colleague in his local ISA Section said, "He ... did so, so much for the section and was passionate about his family, ISA, and our profession. He was a the real deal – a true class act and role model. Keeping him and his family in our thoughts and prayers."
Alex's business and professional experience includes work with various organizations including Permutit Co., Merck, Olin Chemicals, Pfizer, Jacobs Engineering Phone Poulenc, Hoffmann La Roche, and Invensys in numerous engineering & consultancy roles. He has also worked on several automation-related projects for organizations including: Wyeth, Protein Sciences, Hollister-Stier, IFF, Givaudan Flavors, and Conoco-Phillips.
He has served as industry liaison for the ISA Central NJ Section to IEEE, as well as has written several technical articles and newsletter contributions. He received the Golden Achievement Award for ISA District 2, and the ISA 5.6 Standards and Practices Award as chairman.
He obtained his BSEE from Cairo University, and his MSEE from Farleigh Dickenson University.
The funeral was on last Saturday 13 May 2017.
We extend our sympathy to his family and all his many friends and collegues in the automation profession. He will be sadly missed.
