In situ oxygen analyser.

Provides ease of use for optimising combustion systems.

The new Rosemount™ CX2100 In Situ Oxygen Analyzer from Emerson has been released. This instrument is designed to provide critical information needed to optimise combustion processes and help manufacturers meet emissions standards, reduce energy costs and increase safety. These types of analysers are widely used in a variety of industries, including power and utilities, chemical and petrochemical, pulp and paper, petroleum and refining, metals and mining, and others.

Existing oxygen analysers for combustion processes tend to be difficult to install, commission and maintain – making it difficult to optimise combustion processes. By contrast, the CX2100 is simple to install, with a wide range of accessories for installation across different process conditions, including high temperature, high particulate, and high sulphur applications. The transmitter can be mounted up to 91 metres (300 feet) away from the probe to further simplify installation, especially important for personnel safety.

CX2100 commissioning is streamlined by the local operator interface’s guided set-up and commissioning feature, with support for seven languages. The interface features capacitive touch buttons, comes with a wide variety of customisation options, and is housed in a rugged metal enclosure to protect its internal electronics. Guided set-up can also be performed via a remote host, such as a control or asset management system.

Maintenance is made easy by the probe’s quick connect/disconnect feature, speeding replacement by eliminating the need for rewiring. Long service life is provided by ceramic or Hastelloy diffusers, which protect the probe from degradation in high temperature conditions, and these diffusers are field replaceable.

Autocalibration and autocalibration check features regularly measure analyser accuracy to help free technician time for higher-value tasks, and to enhance safety by making sure the analyser stays within its calibration limits. Safety is further improved by a flame safety interlock, which automatically turns off the probe’s heater when a flameout is detected.

Simplefied oxygen analysis.

The SERVOPRO MonoExact DF150E,from Servomex, has an improved digital touchscreen and icon-driven guided user interface for easier operation, combining the reliability of Servomex’s tried and tested Coulometric oxygen sensor with a more user-friendly package.

From machinery manufacturing to pharmaceutical, chemical, metalworking, cytotechnology and aerospace, the MonoExact DF150E can facilitate the customer’s journey with its improved operating system.

Built around the latest innovations in software and hardware, including an updated Coulometric digital oxygen sensor, the MonoExact DF150E brings users operational maintenance benefits that improve user control and reduce costs of ownership.

A direct successor to the DF-150E, the MonoExact DF150E delivers the same precise, accurate oxygen measurement in a backwards-compatible design that integrates easily into existing systems.

“This ensures the MonoExact DF150E complies with existing standards and customer agreements, without the need for re-testing or re-qualification,” Matt Chambers Business Unit Manager P&S, said.

“At the heart of the MonoExact DF150E is our Hummingbird Coulometric sensor, which builds on the original DF Coulometric sensor’s accurate trace measurements. There have been significant design improvements that help to reduce analyzer downtime.”

IG customers requiring accurate process control and product qualification rely on precise measurements delivered by the MonoExact DF150E. Built with the newer advanced user interface, which offers immediate hands-on control via a high-brightness touchscreen display.

Its software has been optimized for a simple user journey, the touchscreen-guided user interface making reporting or adjusting control parameters seamless.

Oxygen analyser.

Oxygen is the latest parameter to be added to Signal’s advanced range of Series 4 continuous gas analysers. The AURORA is a Paramagnetic Oxygen Analyser for accurate percent measurements in incineration processes, inert atmospheres, medical and safety for humans, internal combustion engine exhausts and many more applications.

As a Series 4 instrument, the AURORA is supplied with software for remote access and control over the Internet, and with an optional touch-screen colour display, the AURORA is simple to operate on site. To ensure flexibility, users are able to specify their required configuration and programmable contact closures are available for gas path control.

Offering long-term reliability the unit delivers outstanding performance - 0.1% resolution and 0.1% linearity.

Remote access to Series 4 analysers means that users can perform a number of key functions from the comfort of their own office. This includes analyser set-up and configuration, remote viewing of readings, the collection of logged data and remote troubleshooting; all of which saves the time and cost of site visits.

Oxygen analyser to reduce energy costs and help meet environmental regulations.

To improve energy efficiency and meet environmental regulatory requirements for small and midsize boiler markets, Emerson has introduced the Rosemount CX1100 in-situ oxygen analyser, the first high-performance, zirconia cell-based combustion control system designed for these users. The new system offers the ease of use, economy, and simplified maintenance they require for flue gas measurement. It features the same sensor reliability found in large industrial technology, but the system is built to the requirements of boilers used in such applications as food and beverage, manufacturing, commercial, and municipal.

With increasing environmental requirements, users of light industrial and commercial boilers are faced with escalating compliance demands that increase the need for measurement and control of the fuel-air ratio, which optimises energy efficiency and reduces emissions. Many small to midsize boiler users currently do not measure oxygen in combustion flue gas, leaving themselves open to regulatory as well as energy inefficiency problems. With the Rosemount CX1100, it is now economically feasible to bring high quality and repeatable zirconia technology to these markets.

“Midsize and small boiler users need a system that provides a high level of measurement reliability but justifying the costs and complexity of industrial combustion systems can be a challenge,” said Peter Lagerlof, vice president and general manager, liquid and combustion analysis products, Emerson Automation Solutions. “Our customers have requested a system that is right-sized for their needs – one that provides the performance they need without incorporating features the smaller end user doesn’t require.”

The lifespan of the sensor resulting from the zirconia sensing cell and the all-welded probe gives users and OEMs the quality and reliability they need. At the same time, the system offers an easy-replacement design that enables simplified post-warranty service. The combustion control system requires no reference gas, which keeps installation and maintenance costs low, a significant benefit for commercial and light industrial users with boilers that are sizes 10-100 MMBtu/h (3-30 MW).

With the addition of the Rosemount CX1100, Emerson now offers the full range of boiler combustion technology from smaller commercial boilers to high temperature, multi-measurement hazardous approval applications.

Gas purity in semiconductor applications.

Michell Instruments is now offering to customers in the semi-conductor and gas manufacturing industries a class-leading trace oxygen analyzer for ensuring the quality of ultra-high purity gases.

Analytical Industries’ PI2-UHP Oxygen Analyzer is both cost-effective and reliable. With a low detection limit of less than 100 PPT, it is designed to measure trace-level oxygen contamination in high-purity gases. The Pico-Ion electrochemical sensor is maintenance free and routine calibrations are quick and simple thanks to the built-in auto-calibration and sample handling system. There is no need to add electrolyte.

To ensure the zero gas is completely free of O2,  an oxygen scrubber is included as part of the integrated sampling system. To protect the sensor, a sample by-pass is provided to isolate the sensor from high oxygen levels during, start-up, sample line switching and during maintenance.

Mitchell Instrument products are marketed in Ireland by Instrument Technology.
