Analyser is all-in-one USB3.1 receiver test solution!

Anritsu's MP1800A Signal Quality Analyzer now supports the newest USB3.1 Gen2 receiver test standards. The USB3.1 Receiver Test Solution uses the G0373A Adapter and MX183000A High-Speed Serial Data Test Software to support both USB3.1 Gen1 (5 Gbit/s) and Gen2 (10 Gbit/s) receiver Jitter Tolerance tests.

With digital equipment interfaces speeding up and switching to serial technology to handle the high-speed transmission of large data traffic, the performance of the USB interface is coming under increased pressure. Fixed transmission path loss, jitter, equipment compatibility and signal integrity assurance are just some of the requirements that are driving the need for testers with high-quality reference test signals, as well as the ability to communicate with multiple interfaces.

The Signal Quality Analyzer MP1800A is a plug-in modular Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT) supporting measurement of multi-channel wideband interfaces up to 32 Gbit/s. Additionally, high-reproducibility USB3.1 Gen2 receiver tests are implemented using optimized high-quality output waveforms to measure high-speed interfaces.

Combining the G0373A and MP1800A supports generation of signals required by USB3.1 receiver tests as well as BER measurements. The MX183000A software controls the combined MP1800A and G0373A measurement system to set and control the receiver test signals and display the BER measurement results. The combination of the MP1800A, G0373A, and MX183000A offers an all-in-one USB3.1 receiver test solution for assured high-reproducibility. And automated measurement using the Granite River Labs automation software helps lighten test workloads.

Sulphur Chemiluminescence Detector.

PAC’s AC Analytical Controls is launching the next generation SCD (Sulphur Chemiluminescence Detector), “SeNse”, to the market.

SeNse SCD positions itself as the best performing SCD in the market, combining an excellent stability with a 0.3 pg/s S sensitivity as key specifications, without using oxygen. SeNse uses air instead of oxygen.

SeNse also displays excellent linearity, has a superb selectivity and a true equimolar response that easily outperforms any FPD/PFPD.
It is a total redesign of the Antek 7090 SCD. Completely new optimized ceramics, electronics, and a true constant flow (by pressure point) in the detector base allow for ultra-stable baselines, providing ultra-low lower detection limits. The SeNse also provides the ability to execute GC maintenance (e.g. changing insert or septum) without switching the detector off, significantly reducing instrument downtime.

The large touch-screen and automatic leak check routines make controlling SeNse very simple. SeNse is independent of GC or Chromatography Data System. For now, it can be mounted on Agilent 6890/7890A/B systems, with different platform support to be added in near future.

The SeNse complies with key standard methods such as ASTM D5504 and D5623.

2- and 4-port Performance VNAs.

Industry First Simultaneous Forward and Reverse Sweeping VNAs to Variety of Measurement Applications

The ShockLine™ family of affordable vector network analyzers (VNAs) from Anritsu, has been expanded with the introduction of the Performance ShockLine MS46500B series. Delivering an unprecedented level of value and performance, including best-in-class dynamic range and maximum output power, the new MS46500B series lowers cost-of-test and speeds time to market in numerous testing applications up to 8.5 GHz, including designing and manufacturing mobile network equipment, mobile devices, automotive cables, high-speed data interconnects and system integration components.

The MS46500B series is comprised of the 2-port MS46522B and 4-port MS46524B models, and expands the ShockLine family to a broader spectrum of RF test applications. Each instrument features an independent source per VNA port, and all the sources can sweep at the same time for measurement of forward and reverse s-parameters simultaneously. This unique Simultaneous Sweep feature allows 2-port measurements to be conducted twice as fast and 4-port measurements 4x as fast. With shorter test times, the MS46500B series significantly improves throughput in manufacturing environments.

With its industry best dynamic range, low trace noise, and fast sweep speed, the MS46500B series addresses the S-parameter and time-domain measurement requirements of a complete range of passive device applications. Faster frequency and time domain measurements can be achieved with a time domain with time gating option. In this configuration, the 4-port MS46524B VNA can conduct single-ended, mixed-mode, and Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) measurements on multiport and differential devices.

The MS46500B series is housed in a 3U high chassis to fit in conventional rack systems and the VNAs short depth allows more bench space for cabling and the DUT. The MS46500B VNAs use industry standard LAN communications for robust remote control in production test environments.

ShockLine software also provides a powerful graphical user interface (GUI) for manual test and engineering use. When attached to a user-supplied touchscreen monitor, the full-featured GUI provides comprehensive capabilities, including network extraction, embedding/de-embedding networks, and time domain with time gating. Developing and troubleshooting test programs are made easier, due to advanced marker and limit lines features.

In addition to the MS46500B series, the ShockLine family consists of the MS46121A 1-port USB VNAs, MS46122A 2-port USB VNAs, and MS46322A Economy ShockLine VNAs. ShockLine VNAs eliminate the need to buy expensive instruments for simple S-parameter measurements, and employ multiple architectures that reduce manufacturing costs, enhance calibration stability and minimize measurement uncertainty.

#Maintec Easy maintenance on compressed air systems

Michell Instruments’ range of dew-point and relative humidity instruments and their oxygen analyzers are designed to make many routine maintenance and monitoring tasks quick and simple. Michell are exhibiting a range of these products at Maintec, from 29 to 31 March 2011, on stand C23.

Included on the stand will be Michell’s smallest and fastest portable dew-point hygrometer, the MDM300. At just 21cm by 17cm, weighing 1.5kg, and with a battery life of up to 48 hours typical usage, it enables the user to take field moisture measurements with the minimum of fuss. The fast response means that many more measurements can be taken each day – allowing for more productivity and also more time free for other tasks.

The unit is easy to use: its ergonomic design means that all the buttons are easily operated with the thumbs while the instrument is held comfortably in both hands. All measurement parameters are available at the touch of a button and the password-protected set-up menu is simple to navigate and intuitive to use. Both instrument set-up and downloading of logged data are easy with a Bluetooth connection that comes as standard.

Their range of Easidew Dew-Point Transmitters are ideal for a host of applications where constant monitoring of moisture levels are key – such as compressed air systems and dessicant dryers. All Easidew Transmitters are available as part of a calibration exchange program, which enables users to keep up-to-date calibration certification with virtually no downtime and at a fraction of the cost of buying new replacement sensors.

The Calibration Exchange programme is ideal where periodic re-certification is required to maintain traceability. Before the re-calibration of an instrument is due, the customer orders an Exchange Sensor from Michell Instruments or one of its local representatives. Once received at the customer's premises the original sensor is removed and replaced with the Exchange Sensor, and the original sensor returned to Michell Instruments. Each calibration exchange sensor comes with a traceable calibration certificate as standard.
