Challenges during process analyzer engineering!

A new book, from the ISA (International Society of Automation) stable,  is designed to eliminate or minimize the difficulties, breakdowns and other obstacles that process analyzer system engineers often encounter during project development, engineering and design, procurement, construction, closeout, and sustain phases.

Process Analyzer Systems Project Engineering and Management by Gary Nichols, PE, CAP®, includes specific recommendations for defining hardware and documentation deliverables, adhering to procurement policy, working with team members in other disciplines and in the supply chain, and communicating among project teams.

“In my experience, process analyzers are the least understood of the petrochemical and refining disciplines and sub-disciplines,” states Nichols, who possesses more than 40 years of experience in process analyzer systems engineering. “This book presents an opportunity for analyzer engineers and engineers in other areas of project engineering to understand each other better and produce higher-quality new and revamped plants and operating units where process analyzers are needed.” More of his comments may be found on the ISA Q&A Section here.
