Consummables & Spare parts supplier in France

AdoptSMT France Sarl was set up in summer 2014 in order to be closer to the existing customers of AdoptSMT group and to win additional customers.

Frédéric Doré
Frédéric Doré is the field sales engineer bringing AdoptSMT’s complete range of consumables, spare parts, service, feeders and overhauled machines for the PCB Assembly process to the French customers. Mr. Doré has been working in the PCB Assembly Industry for many years, including a long period for an American leading manufacturer of PCB Assembly equipment. He is therefore well skilled in understanding the needs of his French customers – and also in translating this to international suppliers which AdoptSMT now represents in France.

He works from his home office in Normandy and gets supported from the office by Gaëlle Badufle.

Company outlook from Managing Director!

AdoptSMT Outlook for the year 2014 by Erhard Hofmann, MD AdoptSMT Group Europe

"I started this outlook for 2014 before Christmas. Trying to finish it after the holidays I can confirm one thing: The New Year is starting as busy as the old one ended.

Productronica 2013 held in Munich last November was for us by far the best show ever (we had our own booth at every productronica show since 1995), kept us busy into the start of 2014 and raises our confidence that 2014 will bring another nice increase of business (even no-one will bet on future business growth any more like it was done before 2008).

Erhard Hofmann
We at AdoptSMT expect little changes to the trend we saw during 2013. There is no uniform market. Even comparable companies in the same geographic area and in the same industry segment can show different levels of success, one can expand, the other one be forced to reduce head count and machines in use.

"While these differences between our customers help our business in our pre-owned equipment market (we need both demand and supply) we expect to gain market share in the overall stable market of consumables, spares and tools. Our additional customers in 2014 will be in the situation as the ones were we could win during 2013: They have enough business so they needed parts and supplies but are not too busy to look for alternative suppliers who save them money without compromising on quality. During 2013 we managed to enter many additional accounts, also multinationals, with our range of AdoptSMT Premium Parts and also with many parts and supplies distributed under the suppliers’ brand names including Hover-Davis, Count On Tools, Nortec, Thermaltronics, JBC, Techspray and Indium Corporation. The basis for our growth of business was of course to keep our existing customers, which was the case with the exception of some customers in areas which still suffered from the banking crises (in the South East and South West of Europe).

"We do expect higher investments being done by our customers in 2014 compared to 2013. But what we see even more is the focus of them on optimizing the utilization of their existing equipment. This is where we see ourselves as their prime partner – we help them to keep their SMT lines running. This will have us continue the growth we already experienced in 2013.

"AdoptSMT want to wish all customers and suppliers a successful year 2014”.

Lots of products and solutions at Farnborough!

AdoptSMT is to present many new products for the European PCB Assembly Industry at Southern Manufacturing 2014 (Farnborough GB 12/13 Feb 2014). The supplies, services and consultancy offered by AdoptSMT Group are focused around the aim to keep the customers production running. The main process supported by AdoptSMT with consumables, spares, service and pre-owned equipment is the automatic PCB Assembly including stencil printing, reflow soldering and AOI. Two related areas covered by AdoptSMT are identification and hand soldering with JBC stations and cartridges, Purex fume extraction, ESD products and de-soldering and cleaning tools from ITW - Techspray.

LED Nozzles at Farnborough!
New additions to the AdoptSMT Premium Parts range include SIPLACE compatible ceramic nozzles which are already supplied to many of AdoptSMT Groups repeat buyers of Premium Valve Plungers and Cleaning Sticks as these nozzles are used on the same machines as the well proven other parts. AdoptSMT Premium Parts are tested and qualified. With the same or better quality they also offer price advantages compared to original parts.

The range of splicing products to join SMD tapes and of stencil cleaning rolls and environmentally friendly cleaning agents was further widened to also meet special requirements.

Feeder Service
Discuss with AdoptSMT your feeder service or feeder spares requirements. AdoptSMT recently added an original Fuji calibration station for Fuji NXT series feeders in addition to the calibration systems for many other feeders including SIPLACE S and X, Assembleon, Juki, Mydata and others.

Hover-Davis – The Feeder Company
Hover-Davis will show at AdoptSMTs booth their new Panasonic(r) compatible tape feeder offering many advantages including faster tape loading, easier cover tape handling and a reverse gear. Also the SIPLACE S compatible SSF series feeders will be shown. The SSF05-08 3x8mm feeder is now the only new feeder on the market which is available with a pick point location compatible to the discontinued SIPLACE “silver” and “gold” 3x8mm feeders. Hover-Davis label feeders shown at the stand are the industry standard for supplying labels automatically to standard SMT pick and place machines, eliminating all the hassles of manual application and also not requiring additional floor space as an extra label cell would do.

New High Temperature Laser Markable Label from Nortec AMI
The new Nortec LML fills the gap between laser marking and label application: it can get placed onto small batches, in cases of bad surfaces or for re-marking and then be sent through the standard laser marking process.
Nortec is a leading supplier of ID solutions for harsh environments, with an approach of innovation in ID management, offering total solutions for the whole ID process. Nortec’s high quality polyimide (high temperature) labels for automatic application fit perfectly with AdoptSMT’s sales and service of Hover-Davis label feeders and experience with pre-owned label applicators from manufacturers like CAB or Asys. Suitable colour ribbons for thermal transfer printers are also available.
Masking dots and masking labels are available for automatic as well as for manual application. High-temperature masking dots can be applied for wave soldering and the use of the new masking labels for conformal coating will produce smooth boundaries after peeling off.

Mydata feeder repair service offered by Count On Tools
See the feeders which were sent to COT for repair with broken plows and springs – these are back with AdoptSMT like new, saving lots of costs compared to replacing complete feeders.
Besides some of COT’s wide range of LED nozzles and standard pick and place nozzles AdoptSMT will also show the StripFeeder.mod which can easily be adjusted to feed different size components supplied in short strips of tapes and the ezLOAD board support system.

Sales engineer for Switzerland

Harry Dizdar is the new sales engineer at AdaptSMT for a large region of Switzerland.

He has many years’ experience working as a SMT Production Manager at renowned Swiss OEM und EMS companies. From his home office in Flawil (St. Gallen), he will be looking after AdoptSMT‘s existing and future customers in German-speaking Switzerland and the canton of Ticino. Christian Metzger, who has been working for AdoptSMT Swiss AG since October 2012, will in future be concentrating on providing customer advisory services in western Switzerland.

Erhard Hofmann, founder and CEO of AdoptSMT Europe GmbH and AdoptSMT Swiss AG, explains: "We have known Harry Dizdar for many years, and we value his professional network in the Swiss electronics industry and his profound knowledge of production planning as well as production and process optimisation. We are extremely fortunate that Harry will be consolidating our team so soon after the launch of our Swiss subsidiary. This means that the Swiss team with its two very experienced sales engineers in the west and east of Switzerland will be able to directly support our customers throughout the country without having to travel long distances. Our large product range means that they will both still be kept well occupied. Alongside our globally available range of consumables and spare parts, as well as overhauled machinery for assembling circuit boards, in Switzerland we are also a distributor for the extremely consulting-intensive and comprehensive range of PCB assembly products from Indium Corporation. Our two Swiss colleagues’ process experience in soldering technology will be hugely beneficial here.”

Field sales engineer for Switzerland

Christian Metzger has joined AdoptSMT Swiss AG as their Field Sales Engineer covering Switzerland and will be responsible for their wide product range of spare parts and consumables for the PCB Assembly industry.

Christian Metzger grew up and still lives in the part of Switzerland where the German speaking and French speaking areas meet and is fluent in both languages. SMT cover for Switzerland

AdoptSMT Swiss AG has been founded as a wholly-owned subsidiary of AdoptSMT Europe GmbH. The Swiss market had already been supported by them and plays a key role in the sector of pre-owned placement machines for automated assembly of PCBs. The AdoptSMT Group has always been happy to purchase pre-owned machines from its Swiss customers, knowing that they receive well maintained machines and equipment.

The step towards founding an own Swiss subsidiary has been strongly supported by AdoptSMT’s second market segment, which has been steadily growing over the last two years with the continuous business of consumables, spare parts and tools. These typically smaller but recurring dealings will highly benefit from delivery to the end customer without any customs clearing. The new Swiss subsidiary will do exactly that. The more direct support of the Swiss market will also be enjoyed by our new suppliers Count On Tools (nozzles for LEDs, connectors and standard SMD parts) and Nortec (ID solutions, especially high temperature labels), which we have added to our range of suppliers this year.

The management of AdoptSMT Swiss AG will be initially handled by Erhard Hofmann, founder and managing partner of the AdoptSMT Group. Commenting on the company foundation he explained: “Due to our new suppliers Count On Tools and Nortec, as well as an additional supplier to be announced soon, the Swiss market has reached the critical mass, which justifies the foundation of the Swiss subsidiary. Due to the direct support of our Swiss customers from within Swiss territory, we expect a significant sales increase in Switzerland, especially in the area of spare parts, consumables and tools.”

AdoptSMT will be recruiting additional sales staff who have mastered the required language skills for this important high-tech market.
