Wireless testing for 5G.

Anritsu has announced its enhanced SmartStudio NR (SSNR) and SmartStudio NR IP Performance (SSIP) software solutions adding support for 5G RedCap (Reduced Capability) device testing to evaluate performance. These solutions offer application-oriented performance evaluation, such as throughput and power consumption, for low-power, low-cost devices including Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) and wearables.

Support for more frequency-band configurations also helps simplify testing as 5G deployment expands and band combinations become more complex. With these enhancements, Anritsu helps engineers reduce development effort, improve test efficiency, and bring 5G RedCap devices to market more quickly.

Development background.
As 5G RedCap adoption grows in new applications such as physical AI and IoT devices, customers need practical ways to evaluate real-world device performance. This includes IP throughput testing, power consumption measurement, and IMS testing based on 5G RedCap specifications.

At the same time, frequency refarming following the termination of 3G services is increasing the number of supported frequency bands. The resulting growth in band, carrier aggregation, and MIMO combinations makes test conditions more complex, increasing evaluation time and effort and creating a stronger need for efficient test design and evaluation.

Solution overview.
The SSNR and SSIP application test software solutions work with the MT8000A to simulate 5G/LTE base stations and core networks. SSIP also measures high-speed data communication throughput. An interactive GUI supports intuitive operation without requiring advanced protocol skills.

The key features are:

  • Supports 5G RedCap and enables a wide range of application tests, including IP throughput testing, handover testing, power consumption measurement, and temperature measurement.
  • Retrieves supported band combinations, including MIMO configurations and channel bandwidth, in a single operation, helping reduce test design effort when evaluating large and complex combinations.
  • Facilitates test scenarios that are difficult to reproduce on live networks, such as Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS) and access control in disaster situations.

Test system for satellite and airborne technologies.

Anritsu's new Radio RF Conformance Test System ME7873NR has achieved PCS Type Certification Review Board (PTCRB) certification for the first time* in test cases related to non-terrestrial networks (NR NTN) utilising 5G technology, using Samsung’s NR NTN modem chipset.

The NTN is a communication system that integrates satellite communication and airborne technologies along with terrestrial infrastructure, leveraging satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO), medium Earth orbit (MEO), and geostationary Earth orbit (GEO).

3GPP Release 17 introduces "NR NTN", which includes Non-Terrestrial Networks into the 5G New Radio (NR) standards. With this advance, 5G devices can connect to satellites using the same protocols as terrestrial base stations, paving the way for global 5G coverage beyond traditional infrastructure.

The PTCRB definition of NR NTN testing signifies the formal commencement of the NTN device certification process. Going forward, NR NTN is expected to be actively adopted by network operators worldwide to enhance service quality and expand coverage. Anritsu will contribute to the proliferation of NTN devices by providing certification test systems.

Product Overview.
The ME7873NR is a 3GPP-compliant 5G RF conformance test platform certified by both the Global Certification Forum (GCF) and PCS Type Certification Review Board (PTCRB). It supports Frequency Range 1 (FR1, Sub-6 GHz) out-of-the-box, and combining it with an OTA (CATR) chamber** adds support for Frequency Range 2 (FR2, mmWave).

Adopted for SAR.

Base station simulators from Anritsu have been adopted in a high-speed Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) measurement solution developed by Microwave Factory Co., Ltd. (MWF) in collaboration with Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG). This solution automates RF exposure assessments for 5G standalone (SA), 5G non-standalone (NSA), and 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) devices, supporting the development of safer mobile devices.

The system seamlessly integrates the following products:
  • Microwave Factory: MATEOS Antenna Measurement Software
  • SPEAG: cSAR3D Vector Array System
  • Anritsu: MT8000A / MT8821C Base Station Simulators

In conventional SAR measurements, engineers manually configured the MT8000A/MT8821C. This solution automates the entire SAR measurement process, drastically reducing setup time. It also supports a wide range of standards, from LTE (4G) to 5G NR (SA/NSA), enabling faster and fully automated measurement operations.

SAR testing is essential to ensure that mobile devices, such as smartphones, comply with safety standards for human RF exposure. This collaboration enables manufacturers to perform critical measurements more quickly and reliably, helping bring safer products to market faster.

Safety and compliance of 5G wireless devices.

The functions of Anritsu's new Radio RF Conformance Test System ME7873NR have been enhanced to support 5G wireless device conformance tests and compliance with the ETSI* EN 301 908-25 standard under the European Radio Equipment Directive (RED).

By using these enhanced functions, manufacturers can ensure regulatory compliance for 5G wireless devices sold in the EU and guarantee product quality and reliability. Anritsu is dedicated to supporting smooth market entry for products into the EU.

RED is an EU legal framework defining the safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), radio-spectrum efficiency, and cybersecurity requirements of wireless devices in the EU. With the spread of wireless technologies, such as 5G, the ETSI EN 301 908-25 standard for 5G NR devices has been established based on 3GPP Release 15 regulating 5G specifications, and wireless products now sold in the EU must comply with this standard.

Through this latest enhancement, Anritsu continues to play a key role in deployment of commercial 5G services, helping create a 5G-empowered society.

Product overview.
The New Radio RF Conformance Test System ME7873NR is a 5G test platform compliant with 3GPP standards and is certified by both the Global Certification Forum (GCF) and PCS Type Certification Review Board (PTCRB).

In addition to supporting Frequency Range 1 (FR1, Sub-6 GHz), combining the system with an OTA (CATR) chamber*2 adds support for Frequency Range 2 (FR2, mmWave). Assuring wireless quality of 5G.

Sojitz Tech-Innovation Co., Ltd. (STech I) has selected Anritsu’s Handheld Spectrum Analyzer Field Master Pro MS2090A to evaluate the wireless quality of its private 5G platforms, aimed at the Japanese market. The MS2090A has an extensive track record in private 5G verification experiments conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, earning high marks for its reliability, superior performance, and excellent operability—factors that led to its selection. By leveraging the MS2090A, STech I can now verify compliance with Japan’s Radio Act, manage wireless quality, and quickly troubleshoot issues.

The barriers to introducing private 5G networks are gradually being eliminated by deregulating the sharing of private 5G base stations and simplifying licensing. However, operational complexities persist. To address this, STech I has introduced the private 5G LAN solution from Celona, a U.S.-based leader in enterprise 5G, to the Japanese market. The platform provides all the core functions required for private 5G, simplifying optimisation from deployment to operation. A key strength is that organsations can manage the 5G mobile network as easily as Wi-Fi, without needing advanced technical knowledge. Even so, growing the Japanese market required addressing challenges such as compliance with the Radio Act and assuring wireless quality. Advanced 5G Device Test Solution.

Accelerates high-speed, high-capacity Communications.

New software options for Anritsu's Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A have been developed and launched. They are designed to evaluate the radio frequency (RF) performance of 5G devices such as smartphones. These options support key technologies specified in 3GPP Release 17, including 1024QAM modulation for downlink and Tx Switching 2Tx to 2Tx for uplink, enabling accurate and flexible evaluation of 5G devices with enhanced transmit/receive (TRx) performance.

The 1024QAM modulation for downlink offers approximately 25% improvement in data throughput compared to the current 256QAM standard for the same frequency bandwidth. The Tx Switching 2Tx to 2Tx for uplink technology improves uplink stability and speed by dynamically switching between multiple antennas based on communication conditions. These technologies are expected to be adopted in the FR1 frequency bands used by 5G devices such as smartphones, but also to enhance the quality of communication experiences across a wide range of applications, from entertainment like ultra-high-definition video streaming and cloud gaming to business use cases such as teleworking and cloud services. Anritsu contributes to the advancement of next-generation communications and the creation of a more seamless network environment by providing test solutions that enable precise and flexible evaluation of 5G device TRx performance using these new technologies.

Background to Development.
Since the commercialization of 5G, the widespread adoption of augmented reality (AR)/ virtual reality (VR), 8K video, and live streaming on social media has led to a sharp increase in data traffic, making the development of faster and more stable communication environments a pressing challenge. Technologies specified in 3GPP Release 17, such as the 1024QAM modulation scheme for downlink and the Tx Switching 2Tx to 2Tx method for uplink, are gaining attention, with technical trials underway in various countries for future deployment. These new technologies require a test environment that can accurately and flexibly evaluate the transmission and reception performance of 5G devices.

Product Overview
Anritsu has developed two software options for RF testing using the MT8000A platform:

  • NR DL 1024QAM MX800010A-022
  • NR UL Tx Switching 2Tx to 2Tx MX800010A-019

The former option enables RF testing for downlink 1024QAM modulation, which delivers approximately 25% better receiver performance compared to conventional 256QAM schemes. The latter supports RF testing for uplink transmission switching technology, which dynamically switches between multiple antennas based on communication conditions to ensure stable and high-speed transmission performance.

Non-terrestrial networks test approved.

Anritsu Corporation has announced the successful verification and support of 3GPP RAN5 Rel-17 NR NTN test cases on its 5G NR Mobile Device Test Platform ME7834NR.

Non-terrestrial Networks (NTNs) are wireless communication systems that operate above the Earth's surface, utilizing platforms in the air and in Earth's orbit. These platforms include satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), and Geostationary Orbit (GEO).

3GPP Release 17 introduces "NR NTN" - the inclusion of Non-Terrestrial Networks into the 5G New Radio (NR) standards. This advancement enables 5G devices to connect to satellites using the same protocols as terrestrial base stations, paving the way for global 5G coverage beyond traditional infrastructure.

“Anritsu support for NR NTN test cases will enable ubiquitous connectivity for uninterrupted mobile data, voice and messaging—anywhere on Earth empowering individual users, businesses and industries that need to be connected with always-on access,” said Yokoo Daizaburo, General Manager of Mobile Solutions Division at Anritsu Corporation.

The conformance tests are defined by 3GPP in TS 38.523-1 and aligned with the core requirements in TS 38.331. These tests have been submitted by Anritsu to 3GPP’s Radio Access Network Working Group 5 (RAN WG5). They are available on 3GPP RAN5 portal.

The 5G NR Mobile Device Test Platform ME7834NR is registered as Test Platform 251 with both the GCF and PTCRB.

This platform supports 3GPP-based Protocol Conformance Test (PCT) and Carrier Acceptance Testing (CAT) of mobile devices incorporating Multiple Radio Access Technologies. It covers 5G NR in both Standalone and Non-Standalone modes, along with LTE, LTE-Advanced, LTE-A Pro, W-CDMA and now NTN. When paired with Anritsu’s OTA RF chamber MA8171A and RF converters, the ME7834NR supports testing in sub-6 GHz and millimeter wave (mmWave) 5G NR frequency bands.

Out of this world network use cases.

Anritsu is to participate as Test and Measurement partner in two pioneering demonstrations of 3GPP Rel-17 compliant Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) technology at the 2025 5GAA meetings in Paris. These demonstrations provided the first of their kind measurements showcasing the readiness of the technology and ecosystem to revolutionize automotive safety.

In one of the collaborations with industry leaders BMW Group, Deutsche Telekom, Viasat and Skylo, Anritsu contributed to successful measurements of end-to-end NTN Key Performance Indicators (KPI). The joint effort focused on measuring NTN KPIs to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of use cases such as local hazard warning and emergency messaging. In separate collaboration with industry leaders LG Electronics, Cubic3, Viasat and Skylo, the joint effort focused on measuring NTN KPIs to demonstrate the capability to support use cases such as Voice over NTN and switching between terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks.

During the Use Case testing, Anritsu and partners successfully demonstrated that end to end latency and reliability over NTN were proven with independent measurement systems. This was achieved through a unique measurement solution using both the physical Network Master Pro MT1000A and virtual testers from Anritsu, integrated into the live demonstration environments to connect and measure between car and application server.

These use cases highlight the critical role NTN can play in support of improving road safety. By leveraging NTN technology, telecom networks can deliver timely and targeted alerts to drivers, pedestrians, and other stakeholders even when out of cellular coverage, helping to reduce the risk of accidents and improving response times in emergency situations. The successful demonstration of these use cases highlights the importance of collaboration and innovation in driving technological advancements. Wireless in buildings digitisation.

Interest group teams up with wireless experts and setting new benchmarks for buildings with large-scale digitisation.

Global leaders in smart building technology, Legrand, Schneider Electric and Siemens Smart Infrastructure have announced the formation of a strategic interest group to tackle critical challenges in providing ultra-resilient and interoperable wireless connectivity everywhere in buildings using the new NR+ technology standard. Supported by wireless industry experts such as last mile semiconductor, Nordic Semiconductor ASA, DSR Corporation and Wirepas, and embedded security expert Kudelski IoT, these companies aim to establish NR+, the new technology standard purpose-built for IoT, as the interoperable connectivity for digital buildings. 

This sets a new global standard for long range wireless infrastructure in smart buildings. Recognising the limitations of current siloed building management systems, the group will collaborate under the hosting of the DECT Forum.

The demand for wireless devices in buildings is expected to grow to hundreds of millions annually in the coming years. By implementing NR+ as a global standard, the group seeks to facilitate a transformation toward more sustainable, more energy-efficient buildings capable of adapting to user needs in real-time.

The NR+ interest group will be working closely with silicon vendors, stack vendors, access point providers and smart building standards organizations as well as advocating regulatory adoption to bring the NR+ standard to the forefront of the smart building sector. Easy upgrade for 5G private networks.

Today's manufacturers rely on real-time system monitoring for uninterrupted operations. Test cases achieve GCF validation.

Full support for 5G and LTE Next Generation eCall (NGeCall) validated test cases on Anritsu's 5G NR Mobile Device Test Platform ME7834NR enabling GCF certification* has been announced.

eCall is a European initiative designed to provide rapid assistance to motorists involved in accidents. It uses an In-Vehicle System (IVS) equipped with sensors that, when triggered (e.g., by airbag deployment), automatically place an emergency call to the pan-European Emergency Number 112. Along with the voice call, essential data such as location, passenger count, and vehicle direction is sent to the PSAP. Since March 31, 2018, all new M1 (passenger cars) and N1 (light-duty) vehicles sold in the EU must be equipped with eCall capability.

Mobile networks operators (MNOs) are phasing out 2G/3G networks and transitioning to 4G/5G networks built on IMS. Consequently, there is a growing need for a harmonized shift, to NGeCall, which also operated on IMS.

“3GPP Release 14 for LTE and Release 16 for 5G, the next stages for eCall technologies, enable the automotive industry to certify NGeCall test solutions to deliver eCall modules that incorporate new NGeCall functions,” said Keiji Kameda, General Manager of Mobile Solutions Division at Anritsu Corporation The conformance tests are defined by 3GPP in TS 34.229-5 for 5G and TS 34.229-1 for LTE, aligned with the core requirements in TS 24.229. These tests have been submitted by Anritsu to 3GPP’s Radio Access Network Working Group 5 (RAN WG5) and validated by GCF.

RF/protocol conformance testing for 5G.

A one-box tester supports both RF and protocol conformance testing for 5G communication devices by enhancing the functionality of its New Radio RF Conformance Test System ME7873NR Lite Model according to a recent Anritsu announcement.

When configured as a one-box tester, the Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A, RF conformance testing can be performed with the ME7873NR Lite Model, while protocol conformance testing can be performed with the 5G NR Mobile Device Test Platform ME7834NR Lite Model. Previously, RF and protocol conformance testing required separate one-box testers with different hardware configurations. With these new enhancements, conformance tests can be performed using the same one-box tester and switching between applications, thus contributing to optimizing the capital investment required for the conformance testing of 5G communication devices.

The ME7873NR Lite Model consists of only one MT8000A, and in this configuration can perform the RF conformance testing of 5G communication devices. With this enhancement, the ME7873NR Lite Model supports the 5G FR1 TRx test as well as some Perf and RRM tests with limited test items.

  • Optimizes capital investment: A one-box tester configuration with a limited number of test items helps perform conformance testing at a lower cost. Customers owning the MT8000A can perform RF/protocol conformance testing with minimal extra investment. The Lite Model is upgradeable to the full ME7873NR model for full conformance tests.
  • Reduces test times: The simplified hardware configuration reduces test times by about 20% relative to the full model that is configured from several measuring instruments.
  • Supports conformance testing and device verification: By automating the testing process, it supports conformance testing as well as the repetitive testing used in verification processes such as regression testing.

    Communication in energy parks.

    Cepsa, one of Spain's largest integrated energy companies, operates two energy parks in the south of Spain. For years, employees at the plants have relied on Pepperl+Fuchs products to communicate with each other and document daily tasks such as maintenance. The introduction of 5G has now created new standards in terms of availability, network coverage, and latency, opening an opportunity to gradually replacing existing Smart-Ex® 02 inventory with the intrinsically safe Smart-Ex® 03 5G smartphone from Pepperl+Fuchs.

    The 5G mobile communications standard offers industry a decisive advantage in the form of campus networks. These private 5G networks are made available to companies in cooperation with the network operator of their choice or set up individually for them. As a result, these networks are protected against unauthorized access from outside and at the same time guarantee the availability of bandwidth.

    5G also enables network slicing. The available bandwidth of the network is divided into different channels, known as slices, which in turn can be prioritized. For example, the company defines a slice for critical communication and ensures that the bandwidth is always available in an emergency.

    In addition, 5G scores with extremely low latency times, which makes push-to-talk applications even more effective since Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) is an important part of communication within Cepsa, which is available securely and uninterrupted with the Smart-Ex® 03 from Pepperl+Fuchs. In contrast to analog means of communication, the connection runs via the mobile network. With 5G, communication is therefore even more efficient, faster, and without delay.

    Anritsu Corporation and MediaTek have verified Advanced three uplink transmission (3TX) Technology featured in MediaTek's M80 5G Modem by using Anritsu's MT8000A all-in-one Radio Communication Test Station, providing a flexible test platform for ultrafast, large-capacity 5G communications. The MT8000A supports sub-6 GHz and mmWave RF tests, as well as protocol tests for development of advanced 5G technologies.

    The demands on uplink performance are increasing with the rise of live streaming, sharing videos by SMS, multi-player gaming and video conferences. As more consumers are looking to record their experiences and share them with the world in real time, this 3TX approach dramatically improves upload times for users.

    Interference measurement.

    Enhanced functionality to Anritsu's Field Master™ spectrum analyzer LTE and 5G measurement options has been announced. As the rollout and densification of 5G networks accelerates, degradation of network performance resulting from interference in the TDD uplink is becoming more prominent. The latest Field Master software release provides a dual display of the LTE or 5G Frame structure with automatic placement of gates on the Uplink slots alongside the RF spectrum of the gated time slots.

    For 5G networks with a coastal or mountainous terrain, RF downlink transmissions readily become subject to atmospheric tropospheric ducting. Signals can travel hundreds of kilometers, resulting in a time offset relative to the far-end base station. The result is downlink power masking the uplink signals from user equipment. It is also essential that there is a common frame slot format deployed on all operator networks in a country, and ideally at international borders. The new uplink interference measurement includes configurations for the common frame slot formats recommended by international standards organizations, including GSMA, ITU-R, and ECC/CEPT.

    Anritsu’s Field Master spectrum analyzer with LTE and 5G measurement options are the preferred test instrument for regulators and operators globally. The addition of this uplink interference measurement enhances its value by providing detailed insights into the common causes of interference in new TDD networks.

    5G and LTE measurements are options for the Field Master Pro MS2090A covering FR1 and FR2 frequency bands and the new Field Master MS2080A for FR1 only networks. In addition to 5G and LTE measurements, a Real Time Spectrum Analyzer captures the detailed transmitter spectrum, and a cable and antenna analyzer accessory facilitates sweeping of feeder cables.

    Testing 5G.

    A local technology consortium Smart Nano NI, has been formed to further the development of smart manufacturing in Northern Ireland. It has just launched the largest 5G testbed in there, marking a significant step in a five-year plan to accelerate smart manufacturing in the country. 


    Led by consortium partner Digital Catapult, the British authority on advanced digital technology, the 5G testbed is the organisation's latest innovation activity to bolster economic growth and investment opportunity in Northern Ireland. The investment by the Smart Nano NI consortium will create a valuable, open access facility and provide expert technical support to local start-ups and businesses through the Digital Catapult Smart Nano Accelerator Programme.


    The ground-breaking testbed facilities will be delivered by the global IT and business consulting services firm CGI, in partnership with Digital Catapult Northern Ireland. The cutting-edge 5G and 4G private network is a first-of-its-kind smart manufacturing and education setting in Northern Ireland, providing access to the latest network technologies including 5G and NarrowBand-Internet of Things (NB-IoT), and will be instrumental in upskilling the next generation of innovators and experts across the country. 


    William Revels, Managing Director at Digital Catapult Northern Ireland, said, “This is an exciting milestone for the project as we bring access to the latest 5G technology to both industry and academia and enable businesses to take advantage of the substantial market opportunities offered by 5G. Derry-Londonderry will be the ninth 5G testbed in Digital Catapult’s nationwide network and we’ve seen the opportunities that can be opened up from providing the equipment and in turn de-risking innovation.” 


    The development of these facilities follows CGI’s opening of a new delivery centre in Northern Ireland as part of its commitment to developing skills and talent in the region. Volkan Pakoglu, Director Consulting Services at CGI, added, “The integration of this new 5G platform will demonstrate the value of creating mobile private networks within business by taking full advantage of the power, performance, and connectivity of 5G. We are committed to working together with Smart Nano NI and its partners to support and facilitate innovation, sustainable solutions and use technology for good.” 


    The smart education site at the Industry 4.0 Centre in the Northwest Regional College’s Springtown Campus, will give both students and industry access to test and explore new use cases of the 5G private network, while the manufacturing site, hosted at Seagate’s manufacturing facility, will give businesses the opportunity to test the technology in a live manufacturing setting.


    Dr Fergal Tuffy, Business Support Centre Manager at North West Regional College, said, “We are delighted to have the 5G testbed installed at our Springtown Campus, adding to our automation and robotics equipment at the Industry 4.0 Centre. This exciting collaboration will allow us to support students and businesses to gain skills and knowledge to take advantage of the opportunities that these cutting-edge technologies present.”


    As part of this announcement, Digital Catapult have also launched an open call for the latest Smart Nano Accelerator Programme, giving businesses access to the 5G testbed for the first time. The Manufacturing Innovation Challenge is inviting innovative Northern Ireland start-ups and SMEs to join the programme and submit ideas for new technology solutions to solve manufacturing challenges.


    Following the completion of the programme, the participating Northern Ireland-based companies will have the opportunity to compete for a £75,000 grant from Techstart Ventures to continue to develop their business idea. Funded through Techstart's Proof of Concept Grant Fund, this pre-commercial grant awarding fund supports entrepreneurs in Northern Ireland with grants to explore the viability and commercial potential of an innovative concept.

    5G RF Conformance Testing.

    Anritsu Corporation has released its New Radio RF Conformance Test System ME7873NR Lite Model supporting 5G Sub-6 GHz (FR1) TRx tests.

    5G services primarily using FR1 are expanding gradually, especially in major advanced economies. As a result, demand for FR1 certification conformance tests is expected to increase. However, 5G conformance tests take longer because 5G NR supports flexible numerology with a wide range of frequencies and scheduling for diverse services, which requires a large number of test cases. Consequently, engineers face challenges in meeting development deadlines and obtaining prompt certification. One solution is the purchase of a new conformance test system, however this requires a large additional investment. Anritsu’s extended ME7873NR Lite Model solves this problem by supporting more efficient testing without large extra costs.

    Another key benefit of the distributed modular VNA solution is the MN25132A control module, which greatly simplifies installation. It acts as a junction for the cables and supplies power to the two MS46131A VNAs. There is no need to attach separate power supplies to the two VNA heads. The control module also interfaces the two VNAs to a laptop configured with ShockLine software.

    Product Outline The ME7873NR Lite Model is configured using only one MT8000A, unlike the conventional ME7873NR platform consisting of multiple test instruments. This simple configuration has the following key benefits for customers:

    Extended frequency range for Spectrum Analyser.

    The Field Master™ MS2080A, a multi-functional spectrum analyzer that combines nine instruments into a single solution from Anritsu, has been expanderd to operate up to 6 GHz. With extended frequency coverage, the MS2080A addresses growing congestion in the 6 GHz spectrum caused by rapid growth in satellite services; cellular, commercial and LMR networks; radio location services; and industrial scientific and medical networks. 

    The compact and portable spectrum analyzer provides insights into interference and intermodulation that degrade network performance through its best-in-class performance and features, bringing distinct benefits to base station installation and maintenance (I&M) applications.

    At 6 GHz, the MS2080A features fast sweep speed of 45 GHz/s for greater insight over wider spans. It also has advanced user features, such as AM/FM audio demodulation, and best-in-class RF performance, including +/- 1 dB amplitude accuracy. Additionally, it supports a cable and antenna analyzer, power meter, and 5G/LTE analysis to make it an ideal general-purpose instrument that addresses measurement requirements for legacy and emerging wireless networks.

    Options Expand Measurement Capability.
    Simultaneous with the launch of the MS2080A 6 GHz frequency model, Anritsu announces a new AM/FM modulation quality measurement option for all instruments in the Field Master family. The option enables full characterization of broadcast transmitters, as required by national regulators and transmitter owners. It provides a single screen display of RF spectrum, audio spectrum, and audio oscilloscope, alongside modulation quality and distortion values.

    An optional real time spectrum analyzer (RTSA) provides real-time spectrum analysis with 2 µs probability of intercept (POI).     Rugged Design for Any Environment.
    The MS2080A is a highly durable analyzer that performs in the most challenging environments. It is the only instrument in its class to provide 5 watts of continuous RF input overload protection, preventing costly damage to the instrument’s front-end when used close to high power transmitters or in high signal level environment.

    A large 10-inch 1280 x 800 resolution display meets the demanding IK08 specification for direct knocks and drops. Common functions are always accessible from the MS2080A display, and side menus collapse to maximize graphical results.

    Semiconductors and electronic components outlook steady in EMEA.

    Steady growth for the company in the EMEA market this year is predicted by Mouser Electronics . With over one million parts available to sell, the company has what is considered the widest selection of products worldwide and has broadened its line card by adding more than 170 new manufacturers in the last two years.

    Mouser anticipates that key drivers for 2023, including 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, robotics and electric vehicles (EVs), coupled with many applications across the industrial, transportation, communications and data sectors, will continue to accelerate overall consumption and demand for semiconductors and electronic components.

    "Supply chains continue to improve, and inventory is a crucial factor for mapping this year's growth," expressed Mark Burr-Lonnon, Senior Vice President of Global Service and EMEA and APAC Business. "Thanks to our unique business model, we are in a strong position with $1.6 billion (USD) in inventory."
