Power supply with remote control.

PULS Power has introduced their new DIN-Rail power supply CP20.241-V1 featuring a remote-controlled ON/OFF feature. This allows system administrators and building automation controllers to switch the power supply on or off by use of an external signal switch or transistor gate. This remote-control feature makes centralised control of multiple system components very simple to implement and provides a very efficient shut-down facility in the event of system failure or emergency.

“Industrial and building automation is a high growth area with Industry 4.0 being implemented ever more widely.” comments Marco van der Linden, Manager in Britain for PULS. “Providing the ability to control the output of our new DIN-Rail power supply from a remote location or autonomous AI system will be of great advantage to systems integrators.”

Their CP20.241-V1 is part of the DIMENSION CP series, which provides efficient solutions for designers and systems integrators requiring powerful and space-saving DIN rail power supplies.

With a width of only 48mm, PULS has set a new standard in this power class. The compact design of the CP20 units is made possible due to its efficiency of 95.6%. The devices have been optimised not only for the highest possible peak efficiency at full load but also provides excellent efficiencies with partial loads. High efficiency levels across the entire load range mean lower energy costs for the users in the usage phase and lower heat generated. The CP20 power supplies also raise the bar for reliability. The units can achieve a service lifetime of at least 94,000 hours at +40°C ambient temperature, 100% load and 230VAC input.

In addition to the high-power density users benefit from a comprehensive approvals package and many useful features. These features include a power reserve of 20% (up to +45°C continuously and between +45°C and +60°C short-term), an exceptionally small input inrush current, full output power between -25°C and +60°C (with derating up to +70°C) as well as high immunity to transients.

Key specifications of the PULS CP20.241-V1 include input voltage 100-240VAC and 110V-150VDC, active power factor correction (PFC), output 24-28VDC at 480W, current sharing feature for parallel operation, safe HiccupPLUS overload protection mode, easy breaking fuse at 3 times nominal current for 12ms, remote shut-down, DC-OK relay contact and dimensions of 48 x 124 x 127mm.

Typical applications for PULS DIN-Rail power supplies include, industrial and process control, building automation, panel-building, test and measurement, instrumentation and communications systems. Versions are available approved for railway systems and ruggedised for harsh environments.
