Online product selection.

Yokogawa has announced an enhanced online product selection experience for customers through the use of its online 2D/3D configurator. The tool allows customers to configure field instruments based on any options or requirements and identify the exact model they need from thousands of potential combinations. It renders 2D technical drawings and 3D CAD models that bring products to life in an interactive, user-friendly view.
Accurate product information and detailed specifications are key to maintaining and purchasing control instruments. With comprehensive digitized product data, Yokogawa aims to improve the buying experience for its customers and promote accuracy in product selection. Advanced selection capabilities within the product configurator help users easily discover, compare, and choose options that meet the unique demands of their projects.

The configuration tool is currently available for a broad selection of field instruments including: EJA-E, EJX-A series pressure transmitters; YTA110, YTA310, YTA320, YTA610, and YTA710 temperature transmitters; ADMAG AXF, ADMAG AXR, ADMAG CA, ADMAG AXW (20” and higher) flow meters. Users can interactively create custom product configurations and then view or download 2D technical drawings or 3D CAD images directly within product detail pages. Configurable parameters include process connections, electrical connections, mounting and housing options, industry approvals, and measurement spans.

Exported CAD data is compatible with Intergraph SmartPlant 3D design software and many other formats. These tools are used globally by engineering professionals to design, construct, and maintain plants throughout their lifecycle. Engineers working with 3D model of their plant can insert Yokogawa instrument CAD models into their own designs to ensure exact fit and compatibility. Having a data-ready model improves engineering productivity and reduces costs for EPC firms working with 3D plant models. Customers benefit from more efficiency in their projects and gain confidence in configured instrument specifications.

“Whatever the challenge – whether equipping a new facility or integrating field instruments into an existing one – the online 2D/3D configurator can significantly reduce the amount of time spent selecting the most compatible product, while providing customers with a hassle-free experience,” says Kevin Zamzow, Measurement & Control Product Manager, Yokogawa Corporation of America.

Yokogawa selected ThomasNet– a leading product sourcing and supplier discovery platform – to develop the technological capabilities for the online configurator. The configuration tool, 2D/3D CAD and technical drawing solutions are integrated directly within yokogawa.com.
