Secure satellite communications.

Xiphera has been selected for a new project under the European Space Agency’s (ESA) ARTES programme. The project is to focus on developing a high-speed security IP core for optical satellite communications, further strengthening Xiphera’s position as a provider of advanced hardware-based cybersecurity solutions for the space sector.

A high-speed security IP core for optical satellite links will be developed, enabling secure data transfer at speeds of up to 100 Gbit/s. The technology is intended to support future satellite constellations and space systems that require both high-performance communications and strong cybersecurity.

As satellites generate and transfer increasing amounts of data, communications infrastructure must evolve to support higher bandwidths without compromising security. The project addresses this challenge by combining high-speed data protection with the performance requirements of next-generation space systems.

The project builds on Xiphera’s experience in developing hardware-based cryptographic IP and security solutions for demanding applications in the space, defense, telecommunications, and industrial sectors.

Accessably Secure and high-performance security solutions.

A collaboration to combine Xiphera’s advanced cryptographic solutions with iWave’s extensive portfolio of Altera FPGA-based boards and solutions has been announced. Through this partnership, Xiphera will leverage iWave’s modules, development kits, SmartNIC solutions, and COTS modules to implement hardware-based cryptographic security solutions for scenarios such as secure network connectivity. This enables customers to build secure, high-performance hardware solutions on Altera FPGAs, powered by Xiphera’s optimized IP cores and iWave’s FPGA platforms.

Hardware-based security in South Korea

Xiphera has entered into a strategic partnership with South Korea–based Austin Electric Co., Ltd. This collaboration will extend Xiphera’s advanced cryptographic IP core solutions to a broader customer base in South Korea, especially in the aerospace, industrial automation, critical infrastructure, IoT, and automotive sectors.

This partnership is an important milestone in the company's international growth and reinforces the company’s commitment to delivering robust, transparent, and future-proof cryptographic solutions to customers around the world.

Innovation in cybersecurity.

The hardware-based security technology company Xiphera has been awarded the ECSO STARtup Award 2025, following the European finals held in The Hague (NL). Organized by the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO)*, the award recognized Xiphera’s hardware-based cryptographic solutions as the most outstanding innovation among the finalists.

This recognition highlights the growing importance of hardware-level cybersecurity in securing critical infrastructure such as energy, telecommunications, and other systems. The jury selected Xiphera after a day of finalist pitches and expert discussions.

“This is a great recognition for our entire team. It strengthens our belief that there is a real demand for the solutions we’re building—both in Europe and globally,” said CEO and Co-founder Matti Tommiska.
