New SCADA/HMI software.

The new Pulse V 1.52, from AFCON Software and Electronics, includes improvements for quality, stability, and functionality of the product. The 1.52 version is the result of over 6 months of intense work carried out by the Afcon R&D group. Great attention has been paid to guaranteeing greater stability functionality, both in runtime and design mode.

With this new version Afcon extends its offering with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2. Pulse customers can now purchase a professional package which includes Pulse 1.52 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2.

SCADA/HMI to Brazil!

AFCON is expanding its operations in Latin America. The company reports it has signed a distribution agreement with Altus, a Brazilian company, to distribute its SCADA/HMI software Pulse in Brazil.

Under the agreement, Altus became the exclusive distributor of AFCON in Brazil.

The agreement with Altus enables AFCON to expand its product offering in Latin America and to improve service to its extensive customer base. This agreement is a major step for AFCON in expanding its presence in Latin America, following its already successful presence in Argentina and other countries in the area.

Pulse is a SCADA/HMI software that offers optimal solution for controlling and monitoring industrial control systems, building control and security systems into a single integrated system. The software is successfully marketed worldwide.

Event manager add-on

AFCON Software and Electronics has announced the release of Pulse V1.50 SCADA/HMI software with a new and unique add-on called Event Manager, the best Control Room management software integrated in a SCADA/HMI system.

Pulse is the most recent evolution of AFCON's proven P-CIM solutions for SCADA/HMI.
The latest version, Pulse V1.50 is packed with new features that enhance operator productivity and situational awareness. It offers important security features and streamlines the process of configuring the system. In addition, a wide variety of new templates were added to facilitate the development of new screens, exposing system designers to readily available functionalities.

The Event Manager Add-on module helps Control Room operators respond efficiently to events by providing access to critical information, beneficial step-by-step procedures and real-time availability of human resources.

“This new add-on extends the SCADA/HMI role by providing operators and supervisors tools to handle foreseen contingencies by guiding them through the various steps of an organization's predefined procedures. It also helps the organization with the subsequent debriefing and analysis by recording the actual activities that took place and their respective timing” said Mr. Gabi Weiss, AFCON Software and Electronics' General Manager.

Key benefits of this module are reducing the risk for human errors and ensuring that policies and procedures are followed uniformly. Using the Event Manager in organizations/facilities improve regulatory compliance and increase response efficiency. Furthermore, it also reduces the need for comprehensive training.

Users can now also meet their growing security requirements through Nice DVR Client interface added in this release. This integration allows operators to both view live video and playback along with controlling PTZ camera movement directly from the video show or through direction buttons.

European expansion!

AFCON Software and Electronics is expanding its operations in Europe. AFCON's subsidiary in the Czech Republic has established the Software Division to distribute their software products, especially Pulse SCADA/HMI, and to provide system integration services to its customers.

This is the first step taken by Afcon in order to place itself closer to its potential customers. The Czech company is responsible for distributing these software products to CEE countries (mainly Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia).

Mr. Rene Pelanek MSc., MBA is the appointed CEE Sales Director. Mr. Pelanek, previously the CEE Sales Director of MEDIUMSOFT, Inc., a leading European software developer of Large Emergency Dispatch Centers such as 112 or 911 ICT solutions.

Apart from the distribution of SCADA/HMI solutions, the software division also provides technical support and training expertise for AFCON's product suite, including Pulse SCADA/HMI and Dart cellular software to new and existing customers. In addition, the division offers software and application services.

SCADA/HMI in Italy

AFCON Software and Electronics has appointed MDN Italia as the new distributor for its SCADA/HMI software products in Italy. The appointment of a new distributor is part of AFCON's strategy to extend its global presence and promote its products broadly in Italy.

MDN Italia will distribute and provide technical support for AFCON’s product suite, including Pulse SCADA/HMI and Dart cellular software, to new and existing customers. Owing to their long experience in the SCADA market, MDN Italy can support SCADA/HMI customers, thus enabling the development of new markets for Pulse SCADA/HMI and Dart.
