Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR), a Korean testing and certification institute, has adopted Anritsu's Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A. The MT8000A supports the FR3 frequency range that is expected to be used in future 6G systems. The adoption enables KTR to establish an FR3 evaluation environment in addition to 4G and 5G.
FR3 is a promising candidate frequency range for next-generation 6G mobile systems, and practical implementation from the research stage requires evaluation environments that take standardisation and certification requirements into account. Against this backdrop, KTR has introduced the solution to support activities ranging from research and development to certification and standardisation verification.
"As a leading testing and certification institute, KTR has proactively established an FR3 testbed to support development of 6G technologies," said a KTR spokesperson. " We will continue to provide reliable testing and evaluation capabilities that help researchers and industry prepare for future 6G standardization and commercialization."
KTR will promote evaluation of FR3 technologies and technical verification toward 6G standardisation in the future, while also exploring future applications of the platform, including 6G signaling tests. In addition, by combining the MT8000A with Anritsu’s automated test software, KTR aims to improve the efficiency and sophistication of research, development, and evaluation activities in the FR3 frequency band.
Through its support for these initiatives, Anritsu helps accelerate development and validation of FR3-related technologies toward 6G standardisation, thereby contributing to development of a technical foundation for future practical implementation of 6G.
