Easing compilation of Bills of Materials.

Anglia BOM+ fully costs your Bill of Materials in under 2 minutes

Anglia Components customers can now upload a Bill of Materials (BOM) and get a volume quote in under two minutes following the launch of BOM+, an exciting new free feature exclusive to registered Anglia Live users.

Steve Rawlins, CEO, Anglia, said “BOM+ is a world leading product from Anglia. It offers more flexibility and information far quicker than any similar tool in the industry. Customers can now get an instant quote from Anglia that fully reflects the volume that they are sourcing and any discount structure or negotiated pricing they have in place with us. We work the way the customer wants: BOM+ accepts most popular file formats using the customer’s preferred layout. In short, we’ve cut out the fuss in getting a Bill of Materials fully costed.”

Anglia BOM+ works with Excel and other popular file formats, and accepts data as the customer has entered it, providing an immediate volume quote. Anglia can typically fulfil 90% of any BOM. In a global first, cross referencing to manufacturer and industry recognised part numbers is also fully integrated into the tool, a feature that is unique to Anglia. BOM+ provides sophisticated service, going above and beyond by pricing up the quantities specified at the customer’s contract price or the appropriate price break, whichever is more economical. It will also flag up opportunities to reduce the unit price by increasing the order quantity on specified line items.

Pipeline management & control system order.

Yokogawa has received an order from the British Pipeline Agency Limited (BPA), that country's leading provider of engineering and operational services to the oil and gas pipeline sector, to supply a management and control system for a major multi-product fuel pipeline system. This project will replace BPA’s existing pipeline management and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.

The pipeline system consists of three integrated multi-product fuel pipelines that, altogether, are some 650 km in length and extend from Ellesmere port in northwestern England to the country’s southeastern coast. The pipelines connect to the City of London’s major airports and are a critical part of the Britain’s infrastructure,

This order is for Yokogawa’s Enterprise Pipeline Management Solution (EPMS), which will manage functions such as delivery scheduling and oil storage, and the FAST/TOOLS SCADA software, which will monitor and control the oil pipelines and related equipment such as compressors. The EPMS supplements a basic pipeline management system with specific gas and liquid applications that enable a pipeline operator to manage delivery contracts and associated logistics in a time and energy efficient manner. With the SCADA system covering monitoring and control, the EPMS will integrate the management of the SCADA data.

Yokogawa United Kingdom Ltd. will be responsible for the engineering, installation, and commissioning of these systems. Yokogawa Europe Solutions B.V., which has a wealth of oil and gas pipeline project experience, will provide support. Delivery of these systems will be completed by March 2018.

In accordance with its Transformation 2017 mid-term business plan, Yokogawa targets the entire energy supply chain. The company is strengthening its efforts to drive up sales by providing solutions for oil and gas pipelines and other midstream applications. Encouraged by its success in winning this order, Yokogawa plans to expand its control business in the midstream applications segment.

Analyser selected for Chinese PTA facility.

Servomex has been selected by Jiaxing Petrochemical Co Ltd to supply a complete analyser system for the second phase development of their purified terephthalic acid (PTA) production facility in Zhejiang province, China.

Servotough Oxy 1900
Four years after supplying a system for phase one of the project, Servomex will supply the plant with three SERVOTOUGH Oxy 1900 oxygen and three SERVOTOUGH SpectraExact 2500 toxic gas analysers. These will be integrated into a bespoke analyser house designed and built at Servomex’s Systems Integration facility at the company’s Asia Pacific Business Centre in Shanghai.

In a typical PTA process a mixture containing p-xylene, ethanoic acid, a catalyst system and compressed air is fed into a reactor, where a two-stage oxidation process creates purified terephthalic acid. As a result, precise, accurate and reliable monitoring and control of the oxidation reactions is critical.

By selecting Servomex’s award-winning SERVOTOUGH Oxy 1900 analyser, Jiaxing Petrochemical is able to rely on the unique Paramagnetic oxygen sensor technology for accurate and stable measurements of oxygen. With a non-depleting measurement requiring minimal calibration, the Oxy 1900 was a compelling choice because of its optimisation for hazardous applications including safety-critical oxidation, long lifetime of ownership, and low maintenance costs.

The SERVOTOUGH SpectraExact 2500 analyser is a rugged, highly-flexible multigas solution designed for a wide range of demanding process applications. It combines gas filter correlation and infrared technologies to deliver proven performance in the harshest process conditions, making it an ideal choice for the high-temperature, acidic environments encountered in PTA production.

The high reliability of the existing phase one system was a major factor in Servomex being selected for the next stage of the development, as well as Servomex’s low cost of ownership and long-term reliability in comparison to inferior competitor solutions.

Michael Xie, Servomex
Finally, Jiaxing Petrochemical Co Ltd was impressed by the quality of Servomex’s service offer, which will deliver fast, responsive maintenance and support from the Asia Pacific Business Centre.

“Servomex is delighted to have been chosen for the next stage of this high-profile project, which shows great confidence in our system and the service and maintenance we offer,” said Michael Xie, General Manager of Servomex’s Asia Pacific region. “Both the analysers they have chosen have strong track records in delivering accurate, stable results in the most challenging of environments.

“Jiaxing Petrochemical Co Ltd was further reassured to choose Servomex on the basis of numerous successful installations for other PTA plants, and confirmed that our current system is working well.”

Control system for huge US methanol plant!

Yokogawa Corporation of America has received an order from Orascom E&C USA to deliver control and safety systems for the Natgasoline LLC methanol plant. Currently under construction in Beaumont, (TX USA), this facility will have a capacity of approximately 1.75 million metric tons per year when it starts production in 2017, making it one of the world’s largest methanol plants. Based on nameplate capacity, it will be the largest methanol plant in the U.S.

For the process control and safety of the Lurgi MegaMethanol® process technology and auxiliary facilities throughout this plant, Yokogawa will deliver the CENTUM® VP integrated production control system, ProSafe®-RS safety instrumented system, Exaquantum™ plant information management system, and Plant Resource Manager (PRM®) software package. Yokogawa Corporation of America will be responsible for the engineering and delivery of these systems, and will provide support with installation and commissioning. The delivery of all systems will be completed by August 2016.

Yokogawa won this order because of its excellent track record in completing projects and demonstrated ability to deliver comprehensive, integrated solutions that help optimize operations.

“Yokogawa entered the U.S. market in 1957 and we have grown our business across diverse markets, but have had particular success in oil & gas refining and offshore production, LNG liquefaction and chemical manufacturing. We are proud to win the first order for a new U.S. grass roots methanol plant that exceeds a million metric tons per year. This project allows us to build on our already extensive track record in executing and maintaining methanol production in North America,” says Daniel Duncan, President and CEO of Yokogawa Corporation of America.

Though the chemical industry in the U.S. has long relied on imported methanol, the amount of methanol produced in the U.S. is steadily increasing due to the ready availability of methane produced from domestically sourced shale gas. Leveraging its project experience, Yokogawa will capitalize on this opportunity to expand its control business in North America and other key markets.
