Office opened to serve Middle East. Abdulla Al Hashmi hands over JAFZA Plaque to Andrew Dennant

HIMA is pursuing a strategy to strengthen customer partnerships in key markets and enhance collaboration between its partners, sales and engineering services. The latest example is the new head office in the Middle East region.

The company has been present in the Middle East region for over 20 years, serving an installed base across the 82 countries and building partnerships to be closer to customers. HIMA Middle East opened its new Head Office in Jebel Ali, Dubai, on the 28th of February, 2023, strengthening its presence in the region. During the opening event, Managing Partner Steffen Philipp, CEO Jörg de la Motte, CFO Michael Löbig and HIMA Middle East Vice President Andrew Dennant, welcomed customers, guests and the local authorities.

The HIMA Group continues to invest there as the business focus in the region transitions from serving traditional hydrocarbon processing industries to serving customers who are increasingly delivering energy from renewable sources.

"By expanding our market presence in the Middle East, we are confirming our long-term commitment to supporting our customers and partners in this important region", stated Steffen Philipp Managing Partner of HIMA.

As customers across the Middle East, Africa and the CIS countries, move towards digitalisation in functional safety in the Process and Rail industries, HIMA has co-located a wider range of expertise in the region.

“Our approach is to help customers within the region digitalize functional safety with added value. The investment in the new office is to enable further growth within the region in line with the long-term development of HIMA”, emphasized Jörg de la Motte, CEO at HIMA.

The facility houses a centre of excellence for Project Engineering, Lifecycle Services, and Product Support that is available 24/7 with a strong focus on sustainability. The installation of water-saving washroom facilities reduces the building’s overall water consumption by as much as 80%, and an air dispersal feature saves up to 30% of the annual electricity consumption, resulting in a potential 76% carbon footprint reduction in these two focus areas. The new HIMA Inspiring Work concept facilities hybrid working and collaboration with customers regardless of the nature of the expertise that is required.

Abdulla Al Hashmi, Chief Operating Officer, Parks and Zones, DP World UAE said:

Electrical Utility solutions combat energy costs.

Cost reducing and efficiency increasing solutions such as Predictive Maintenance solutions, Optical Gas Imaging Camera, Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera, HD Thermal Camera on Display.

Cutting Energy Costs, Reducing Loss and Downtime, Teledyne FLIR, is all set to showcase their Electric Utility Solutions product portfolio at Middle East Energy 2023 scheduled from 7th to 9th March at World Trade Centre (Dubai). Exhibiting at Stand H4.E50, on display will be Energy saving solutions such as FLIR HD Thermal Camera with Viewfinder, Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera, Optical gas imaging camera, and Extech Test & Measurement Solutions for Utilities Industry. Visitors at FLIR Teledyne stand can experience new energy solutions and technologies and perfect their own energy strategies.

Middle East Energy provides a unique platform for energy leaders to debate and shape the future. Experts from across the region and beyond join forces to plot the best route through the energy transition.

The ground-breaking product on display is Teledyne FLIR T1020 HD Thermal Imaging Camera. For decades, electrical and mechanical industries worldwide have recognised the importance of predictive maintenance programs, with thermal imaging cameras playing a significant role in their effective delivery. With an impressive temperature measurement range of -40˚C up to 2000˚C, up to 3.1MP resolution thermal imaging using FLIR’s UltraMax technology and a choice of 3 high-fidelity OSX precision HDIR lenses, the T1020 is a powerful tool for maintaining industrial systems.

In addition to this FLIR will also showcase the FLIR Si124 industrial acoustic imaging camera.
The FLIR Si124-PD acoustic imaging camera can help you detect partial discharge from high-voltage electrical systems up to 10 times faster than traditional methods. Built with 124 microphones, this lightweight, one-handed solution produces a precise acoustic image that visually displays ultrasonic information, even in loud industrial environments. The acoustic image is transposed in real time on top of a digital camera picture, which allows you to accurately pinpoint the source of the sound. The Si124-PD features a plugin that enables users to import acoustic images to FLIR Thermal Studio suite for offline editing, analysis, and advanced report creation. Field analysis and reporting can also be done using the FLIR Acoustic Camera Viewer cloud service. Through a regular maintenance routine, the FLIR Si124-PD can help facilities save money on utility bills.

Available in additional models which include a cordless battery option: the Si124-LD for leak-detection applications, or the Si124 for both electric utility and leak-detection applications.

Electrical utilities use SF6 as insulator gas. This is very useful but harmful for environment. Environmental protection agencies have the responsibility to make sure that these emissions fall within governmental and international policy guidelines. To help them with that task environmental protection agencies can use the FLIR GF306 optical gas imaging camera. This camera visualizes sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) and other gas emissions without the need to shut down operations. GF306 inspections are faster than traditional leak-detection tools, and capable of detecting SF6, anhydrous ammonia (NH3), and ethylene (C2H4). Thus, improving the efficiency and reducing the revenue loss.

Commenting on FLIR’s participation at Middle East Energy, T P Singh, Senior Director of Sales – Instruments in Middle East, said, “Teledyne FLIR designs, develops, manufactures, markets, and distributes technologies that enhance perception and awareness. Teledyne FLIR strives to strengthen public safety and well-being, increase energy, and time efficiency, and contribute to healthy and intelligent communities. Middle East Energy is a perfect platform to showcase our solutions which are designed to maximise efficiency, safety and uptime in a multitude of industrial environments for Industries in Utilities & Oil & Gas sector."

Seal Analytical publishes program of international expos!

SEAL Analytical has announced its participation in a series of international events that will include North America, Europe and the Middle East. Company President Stuart Smith says: “The latest models of our highly automated segmented flow and discrete analysers are proving extremely popular, so we made a decision to expose them to as many prospective users as possible.

“We will also launch a major new product in 2014, so we anticipate a great deal of interest in our booths.”

With manufacturing facilities in the USA and Germany, SEAL is a regular exhibitor at Pittcon and Analytica, but this year the company will also participate in the Ocean Sciences global meeting in Hawaii and Arablab in Dubai.

SEAL Analytical’s booths at these events will feature the company’s latest innovations in discrete and segmented flow automated colorimetric analysers.

The QuAAtro, for example, is the latest generation of the original world-class Technicon™ Segmented Flow Analysis (SFA) systems and the new QuAAtro 39 high performance microflow analyzer will be of particular interest to visitors. More flexible than its predecessors and offering up to 33% more capacity, the QuAAtro 39 enables the operation of a greater number of simultaneous analyses and improves laboratory efficiency. Importantly, this new instrument also further lowers the detection limits of the QuAAtro platform.

The latest version of the AA1 dual channel, automatic SFA will also be unveiled. This model features a larger pump and integrated distillation module for online analysis of Phenol, Cyanide and Ammonia. In addition, the new gas diffusion method for Ammonia will be shown.

The SEAL Analytical booths will also feature the AQ series of Discrete Analyzers, the AA3 SFA and a programmable block digestion system.

Summarising, Stuart Smith says: “Our analyzers have been developed for specific market sectors, so we are looking forward to meeting laboratory professionals involved with the testing of seawater, surface waters, wastewater, drinking water, soils, fertilizer, plant materials, tobacco, beverages, food and animal feeds.”
