Partnership for seamless SAP's ERP Platform.

Endeavor Consulting Group has received the “PAS-X ERP Integration Ready” partnership certificate for its iMES solution and becomes an important partner in the Körber Ecosystem Partner program.

Pharma and biopharma companies can greatly benefit from integrating their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solution like Körber’s Werum PAS-X MES. While ERP systems primarily focus on managing various aspects of an organization's operations, such as finance, human resources, or supply chain, MES solutions step in to address the specific needs of the production. Integrating ERP and MES systems has a highly positive impact on life science manufacturing companies who can establish a seamless connection between the shop floor and the rest of the organization. With this integration companies can optimize forecasting and inventory management, effectively avoid production delays, and increase productivity in production.

In the past, Endeavor Consulting Group and Körber have collaborated multiple times to provide an out-of-the-box solution for clients with specific needs for integrating PAS-X MES with their existing SAP ERP software system. The PAS-X MES Suite digitally controls, monitors, and documents the manufacturing process in real-time. Endeavor’s solution “iMES” is a set of pre-packaged, SAP-configurable integration applications combined with an event monitoring system, designed to simplify changes to the SAP system should they be required. iMES follows the same design principles as SAP's standard software, offering configurability, flexibility, and ease of maintenance. It has been thoroughly tested for compatibility with recent SAP version upgrades, including SAP S/4 HANA.

"We are pleased to recognize Endeavor for achieving the 'Ready' level certificate with their integration tool, iMES. This accomplishment highlights their expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions. As a partner, we are excited to collaborate and offer clients enhanced capabilities, seamless integration, and optimized operational efficiency between PAS-X MES and SAP's S/4HANA ERP software system," says Lars Hornung, Senior Principal Alliances & Technology Partners Software, Körber Business Area Pharma.

“iMES is a result of extensive experience and global design requirements, incorporating best practices. It can accelerate implementations, reduce risk and total cost of ownership. As a proud member of Körber's Ecosystem partner program, we are excited to bring our expertise and innovative capabilities to empower businesses in their digital transformation journey,” says Chris Chambers, Managing Partner, Endeavour Consulting Group.

MES implementation on Thai site.

First PAS-X MES implementation in the Thai pharmaceutical industry / interfaces to ERP, LIMS and eQMS for efficiency and compliance / large benefits in quality, time- saving and reduction of lead times

GPO Rangsit
Werum’s PAS-X MES went live at the Government Pharmaceutical Organization’s (GPO) manufacturing site in Rangsit, Thailand – the first in the Thai pharmaceutical industry. GPO is the largest pharmaceutical producer and distributor of important medicines for the Thai market.

PAS-X has been implemented as a full-scope MES across the whole facility from the goods receipt of raw materials, warehousing, weighing, production and quality until shipment of finished products to the GPO nationwide supply chains. The MES integrates GPO’s ERP and LIMS systems to ensure efficient and compliant data transfer. The PAS-X MES is supported by an electronic QM system (eQMS) under the concept of a fully integrated and electronic production site.

“PAS-X has enabled us to reduce paper records from the plant floor and replace them with an electronic and sequenced way of gathering the right data for the right product from the right authority at the right time,” says Dr. Mukdavan Prakobvaitayakit, Deputy Managing Director, GPO. “The review-by-exception functionality has also enabled departments within the manufacturing organization to start reviewing the events in real-time which saves time and reduces lead time for product release as the review can be completed in parallel with production.”

The complete IT design and test and validation services were provided as a turnkey project to ensure the facility meets international GMP standards (PIC/S). The project was carried out locally by the Werum Asia Pacific Support Centre in Thailand.

Werum’s PAS-X meets the various requirements of a CMO company with a differing customer structure.

PAS-X will be implemented in several stages as a full-scope MES out of the box and it will be interfaced with the Infor Blending ERP system. Once PAS-X is fully implemented, it comprises e.g. a warehouse management system and a fully integrated Track & Trace system to prevent counterfeiting.

“The integrated Track & Trace functionality ensures a consistent flow of information from the ERP to the automation level. So we do not need an additional third-party product for serialization,” says Dr. Marco Klingele, Head of Administration, Losan Pharma GmbH. “PAS-X will help us to significantly increase the efficiency and quality of our processes and provide our customers with even better products in an even shorter time.”

User guidance concept & improved device-specific design provides easy, efficient operation!

Werum IT Solutions has released the latest version of its worldwide market-leading Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries. The new PAS-X V3.1.7 software offers new levels of usability, and serves to further improve overall operational efficiencies.
PAS-X KPI Operator dashboard: important performance data at a glance
Easy-to-use MES for pharma companies
"Pharmaceutical companies are pressed to make production lines increasingly efficient and agile," says Robert Welter, Head of PAS-X Product Management, Werum IT Solutions GmbH. "To meet these requirements, an MES is needed that is ideally suited, not only in terms of functionality but also in terms of usability in order to allow easy system operation. In addition to designing new and innovative functions, it is essential to ensure an unsurpassed level of usability."

New user guidance concept
With PAS-X V3.1.7, the dialog for electronic batch recording was given a new design to optimally support production plant personnel in performing their tasks. Despite the complete functional scope of PAS-X, the information is displayed in a way that allows operators to work intuitively and efficiently, allowing them to focus on the most demanding aspects of their work while still being able to find additional information at any time. Based on feedback culled directly from shop floor end users, Werum also optimized certain automatic processes to further improve the overall user experience.

Device-optimized and improved design
PAS-X comes with device-specific dialogs. Depending on the device, users are displayed a dialog that has the optimal size and can be operated easily. For instance, the KPI dialogs are optimized for large screens - frequently used, for example, on packaging lines - as well as for tablet screens often used by supervisors. All operating elements are placed in optimal on-screen positions and font sizes can be changed. This is particularly relevant for mobile devices and Asian languages, such as Chinese and Japanese.

This is what our customers say
"We tested the redesigned EBR execution in practice," says Stefan Moris, Business expert POM - INM, Janssen Pharmaceutica N.V. "Everybody was impressed with the quality of the new graphical user interface."

A first in MES in India!

The pharmaceutical major Dr. Reddy’s is the first Indian company to improve its manufacturing processes by installing an electronic PAS-X Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Dr. Reddy’s opted for Werum’s MES PAS-X to help enhance the quality and compliance and to optimize the efficiency and productivity of its pharmaceutical shop floor processes.

Dr Reddy's dosage facility
Bachupally, Hyderabad
Implementing PAS-X forms part of Dr. Reddy’s expansion strategy. The first step, now successfully completed, involved installing PAS-X at one of the company's FDA and MHRA approved production facilities at Bachupally in Hyderabad.

In its first step, the PAS-X handles and controls the Warehouse Management System, such as receiving, sampling and storing of materials. It also carries out Weighing & Dispensing and Equipment Management operations.

Using mobile terminals, PAS-X coordinates the barcode-controlled process for material tracking and tracing of containers as they travel from the warehouse to the dispensing area. An automated interface allows PAS-X to communicate directly with Dr. Reddy’s ERP (SAP).

The project is being carried out by a team of experienced experts at Werum’s Asia Support Centre with Dr. Reddy’s Internal Core Team.

In the framework of the global PS@ SAP program, Accenture, Werum Software & Systems, and NNE Pharmaplan have rolled out the first combined ERP/MES system at Novo Nordisk’s site in Denmark.

The main objective of the program is to implement a globally standardized ERP/MES solution on the basis of SAP and Werum’s PAS-X. The program is intended to be rolled out later to most of Novo Nordisk’s worldwide manufacturing sites.

Novo Nordisk decided on this because it provides essential functionalities out-of-the-box. Another factor that convinced Novo Nordisk to choose Werum’s manufacturing execution system is the fact that PAS-X has a proven record of successful installations throughout the industry.

The program started with the development of a standalone PAS-X pilot system in Denmark in 2008 and with some other implementations throughout the organization. Since then, Novo Nordisk, Werum and NNE Pharmaplan have been cooperating closely and have designed and implemented a MES PAS-X Core system.
