Accreditation for calibration laboratory.

LotusWorks Management has recently extended the scope of the ISO 17025 accreditation in the laboratory and onsite at our customer facilities in order to further improve service to customers.
The scope extension included increasing Temperature Calibration from -100˚C to 660˚C, Scales Calibration up to 320Kg and adding Temperature mapping of controlled environments from -90 to 140˚C.
Members of the LotusWorks Calibrations & EHSQ Department along with the SGS Surveillance Auditors.
LotusWorks achieved this by investing in extra test equipment and spending more time bringing procedures, training and capabilities up to the IS0 17025 standard. The Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) reviewed the scope extension during the recent surveillance audit and the team was delighted when it approved all of the exertions and additions to the 17025 scope.

The extensions came as a result of a management review by LotusWorks, which was carried out in early 2015. They deliver a more comprehensive accredited service to customers and are proof of LotusWorks’ culture to continuously seek ways to improve services offered to customers.
Well done to all laboratory staff who played a significant part in getting the scope extended.

ISO 17025 calibration extensions!

LotusWorks, headquartered in Sligo and with operations throughout Ireland and internationally, have recently added Pipette and Balance calibration to their existing ISO 17025: 2005 scope of accreditation. They were awarded the extension to their accreditation by the Irish National Accreditation Board (INAB) on the 25th February 2014.
Pictured above are some of the team from LotusWorks receiving the award from INAB.  From left: Tom McGuinn Calibrations Supervisor LotusWorks, Tom Cafferkey Director LotusWorks, James Stapleton Accreditation Officer INAB, Noel Molloy Calibrations Manager LotusWorks & Nicola Kennedy Quality Manager LotusWorks
ISO 17025:2005 is the international standard that formally recognises the demonstration of the technical competence of laboratories to carry out calibrations. LotusWorks, previously trading as Lotus Technical Services, first achieved ISO 17025: 2005 accreditation in December 2010 for Electrical and Temperature calibration. The company’s full scope of accreditation can be found on the INAB website under registration number 277C. The addition to the existing scope for Pipette calibration covers 1ul to 10,000ul and for Balance calibration ranges from 1mg to 20,000g. LotusWorks can perform the full scope of accreditation in their laboratory in Sligo or onsite at their customer’s facility.

ISO 17025: 2005 accreditation is recognised as the industry’s top standard, and it assures the quality of LotusWorks laboratory calibration services, processes, technicians, and data accuracy. The company’s calibration capability extends from onsite calibration, to a mobile calibration service and laboratory calibrations performed at the company’s calibration laboratory at their headquarters in Sligo.

Speaking about the accreditation extension, Calibrations Manager of LotusWorks Noel Molloy commented “We are delighted to add Pipette and Balance to our existing Temperature and Electrical offering, accreditation to this standard is a formal recognition that our laboratory is competent to carry out calibrations detailed in the ISO 17025 scope. This extension to our accreditation demonstrates our continued commitment to improving our service delivery.”
