High voltage automotive relays .

The availability of a new range of FCL Signal Switching Relays for automotive applicationsare available from Inelco Hunter. Demand for higher quality, certified high-voltage automotive relays is on the rise, and the new FCL Components switching relays have been developed to satisfy the growing demand.

Conventional signal relays have often been used to switch signals for on-board equipment in electric vehicles. However, EV batteries usually use 300 to 400VDC. This exceeds the expected usage range of many signal relays, and that can lead to problems. FCL Components’ newest signal relays series, FTR-B3, FTR-B4, and FTR-C1, are specialised relays for automotive signal switching that address these issues. They can operate at 1mA 400VDC and offer a guarantee of 1mA 500VDC switching (maximum switching power 0.4W).

The mounting options for these parts are SMT or Through-hole PCB mounting. Applications include switching audio circuits for emergency calls, battery controller applications including battery monitoring, abnormal detection of over-voltage and over-current and low/high leakage detection.

The series combines a proven track record of highly reliable signal switching performance, adding to the specification of 1mA 400VDC switching (maximum switching power 0.4W). The lineup includes the small, low profile FTR-B3; the small, slim FTR-B4; and high insulation/wide gap FTR-C1 series.

FTR-B3/FTR-B4/FTR-C1 series relays are manufactured at a certified factory in compliance with IATF16949, an international standard for automotive management systems. They are UL and CSA recognized and RoHS compliant. The series is part of FCL Components’ ongoing expansion of highly-reliable, high-performance relays designed for in-vehicle equipment. The FTR-B3/FTR-B4/FTR-C1 series relays are available immediately.
