Galatian bread knot.

The next on-line technical meeting of ISA Ireland and InstMC Ireland on customising a robot to perform manual handling tasks. The presenter will be Miguel Vilariño Orgeira.

Unique bread from Galatia (ES)

Miguel will explain how he has successfully designed and developed from scratch a bespoke robot to mimic the complex muscle motions of a human hand to create the iconic knot of the Pan Gallego*.

He will outline the approach he used to identified and solve the problems he encountered when he was developing this solution. Pan Gallego is a tradition artisan bread from Galicia, in northwest Spain, recognized as a Protected Geographical Indication. Its distinct knot makes it instantly recognizable and requires incredible skill to create.
