Medical devices can already be comprehensively adapted to suit individual requirements. This task has now been made simpler through an application developed by the steute business division Meditec.
This App facilitates direct communication between a smartphone or tablet and state-of-the-art user interfaces which use the "steute Wireless" protocol SW2.4LE -MED and are equipped with a Bluetooth low-energy module.
In this way, manufacturers of medical devices, as well as maintenance staff, can configure and analyse the switching status of a user interface. In addition, they can pre-set or change button combinations very easily and comfortably, as well as adjust parameters such as transmission power and transmission period.
For users of the interface, the App also simplifies operation, as well as providing some additional benefits. Users are able, for example, to query the battery charge by tablet or to have a message sent to their smartphone when the actuator batteries require recharging.
This App, entitled "wireless configuration tool" will be available for Android tablets and smartphones in the Google Play Store from January 2016. Additional variants for other operating systems will follow.
