Appointment brings focus to energy and controls markets

Carlo Gavazzi is extending its management team in Britain to help it meet the demands of the fast-growing renewable energy and building management markets.  Amir Sami is joining the company as business development manager responsible for energy and controls.

Amir will take responsibility for sales management and strategy for Carlo Gavazzi’s energy and controls product ranges and will work closely with the dedicated UK-wide distribution network to support customers on control, renewable energy and building management solutions.  Amir has extensive experience in PLCs, drives and human-machine interfaces, and, as an Associate member of the Chartered Management Institute, has business administration qualifications bringing significant insight of operations, marketing, and strategic management to the role.

Amir gained a B.Eng. in Electronics Engineering in 2004 and began his career with Carphone Warehouse in the Express Engineering Division. This led to a team leadership role for express repair retail stores, before progressing to sales and sales management with specialist electrical distributors in the automation industry. Prior to joining Carlo Gavazzi, Amir worked extensively on international projects for rail and lift applications.
