“With complete version history of all object-level changes, the new AutoSave capability increases the value of the Wonderware System Platform software offering by protecting intellectual property in the system design and by providing greater insight into important changes over the life of each application object,” said Phil Couling, product marketing director, Invensys Operations Management. “Customers also benefit from the ability to roll back undesirable changes to a known state and by permitting greater creative experimentation and idea testing during the design phase. Rollback capability further reduces risks and system maintenance costs. AutoSave for System Platform is another example of how our global ecosystem of partners leverages open and extensible ArchestrA technology from Invensys to help our clients achieve Operational Excellence.”
The Wonderware System Platform software offering can be utilised to meet the SCADA, supervisory HMI, MES and EMI software needs of industrial automation and information users and can help improve the agility, safety and productivity of plant operations. By capturing and archiving changes as they are made, AutoSave for System Platform protects against loss of configuration data to minimise downtime, assists with regulatory compliance and increases productivity. With a single click, users can roll back configuration changes after an equipment failure or other events, and because the software maintains a history of revisions, different versions of an object can be compared and changes can be reviewed to protect plant assets and personnel. AutoSave for System Platform also provides insight into an object’s associations so that users will be aware of which related objects will be affected when a change is made.
“MDT Software is pleased to join Invensys in providing a product that enables automation customers to more effectively manage and control equipment and processes, resulting in decreased errors, downtime and safety issues, while increasing security and productivity,” said Gary Gillespie, vice president and general manager, MDT Software.
