Laser sharp website.

Laser Components has completely redesigned its Internet presence. This not only affects the external appearance: the entire content architecture has been reorganized. This strongly customer-oriented structure was based on a comprehensive market and customer analysis.
The new website reflects the corporate structure. Each sales region has its own website tailored to the respective market and its customers. A new addition is a separate section for the network technology product group, so that this target group can access all the relevant information even more quickly.

In addition to the classic product pages, Laser Components customers will also receive detailed information about applications and markets in the future. The "Photonics Portal" serves as a central information platform with company news, application reports, technical articles and many other resources. Both areas will be continuously expanded in the future.

"The strength of Laser Components is our direct contact and close cooperation with our customers," says CMO Claudia Michalke, who was in charge of the project. "This was at the forefront of the design of the new website. We want our customers to benefit from our wealth of experience and the wide-ranging knowledge of our experts at all times."

"The new website is the grand finale to the rebranding process of the past few years," adds CEO Patrick Paul. "Our marketing team really went "beyond borders" during the implementation. They created 561 individual pages for the product portfolio alone. In less than a year, they completed more than 6,000 new graphics files to make our new brand presence visible online."

New website makes training and certification easier.

Thousands of professionals in fields ranging from building diagnostics, electrical inspection, optical gas imaging, and industrial automation are benefitting from latest infrared camera technology, both to improve their work and grow their careers. Whether handheld or on a drone, these thermal imaging systems can detect anomalies and problems that are often invisible to the naked eye. However, it requires some education to make the most of thermography and get the job completed quickly, efficiently, and most important, accurately.

Finding the right thermography classes is now easier and more intuitive thanks to a newly launched website for the Infrared Training Center (ITC). This site will not only help existing and aspiring thermographers determine the right course to derive more value from thermal inspections, but also help them make a better case to their employers to sponsor this kind of professional development. They’ll find the right training to ensure they conduct inspections the right way—based on a strong educational foundation—instead of working on assumptions and guesses.

Professional upskilling.
Proper training increases the safety of thermography personnel as well as their colleagues who remediate issues thermography uncovers, all the while cutting down troubleshooting time, improving productivity, and creating more effective predictive maintenance programs. That may include keeping mission critical equipment running while maximizing output and minimizing downtime. The end result is a reduction of outages, and potentially, the avoidance of catastrophic—and expensive—failures.

The exciting field of thermography takes both training and experience to ensure that readings are both accurate and actionable. ITC meets that training need with the highest quality interactive thermography courses from highly qualified international thermography instructors. All ITC courses maintain ISO 9001 certification, ensuring they offer valuable training, certification, and recertification in all aspects of infrared thermography. After all, interpreting thermal imaging correctly comes down to training, experience, and first-hand knowledge of the science behind it all.

Scott DeRaps, ITC graduate and Level I Thermographer with Coutts Brothers Inc. "ITC trainings have given me the knowledge and the confidence to go into the field and provide high quality inspections for our clients. These inspections are going to save our clients time and money, and can save them from a possible catastrophic failure."

Trade professionals and engineers have varying levels of experience with thermographic applications, and regardless of their experience, the ITC can work to their benefit, starting now.

For new unexperienced users, the introductory courses (Level I) serve to better communicate the value and benefits of working with thermal imaging. For those a step further in their experience and who are already familiar with leveraging thermography in the field (Level II), ITC helps with staying up-to-date with the latest tips and trends while maintaining the highest level of globally recognized certification to boost credibility. And lastly, much more detailed and advanced courses (Level III) round out the program for the experienced users who are honing their skills and keeping their certifications up to date. No matter what level they take, ITC certification can increase a professional’s credibility, enhance their career, and build thermal imaging inspection businesses.

Website for interconnections!

New website for growing product segment

Eighty years ago ODU became known through electrical contacts and then through connectors. Comparatively a newcomer in the product portfolio are the Mass Interconnect interfaces. Details of these are now featured on their new website

Making things as easy as possible for the user was not only the primary goal in the development of the ODU-MAC® Black-Line mass interconnect interface. The same applies to the new website: anyone who wants information will get the results quickly and compactly.

The mass interconnect systems are mainly used for testing printed circuit boards and electronically assembled components. What is decisive there? Reliable measurements and great flexibility. Not surprisingly, ODU's contact technology is convincing here due to its high reliability. Equally important is the individual configuration of interfaces, for which the modular connectors are ideally suited. "It was the next logical step to offer our own mass interconnect interface," said Tobias Eder, product manager at ODU.

In order to meet the requirements of as many applications as possible, the ODU-MAC® Black-Line portfolio is constantly being expanded. The latest extension is a so-called electronics housing, which can be used as an alternative to the adapter. It allows connectors to be attached to the rear panel for individual test requirements. At the same time, the housing protects electronic components and cables.

More than 1000 3D models available.

More than 1,000 product 3D CAD models in the Moore Industries online catalogue are now available for download in multiple file formats for use in most popular CAD design systems.

Moore Industries Engineering Director Bob Myles commented that “The 3D CAD models will make it much easier for our customers to integrate Moore Industries products into their system designs by reducing fabrication time and shortening the overall engineering timeline”.

This new feature of the online catalog provides a pop-up 3D viewer that allows the visitor to see different views of the selected product, rotate the model to any viewing angle and zoom in to view detail. Models can be downloaded and saved for use in 3D CAD systems for inclusion in panel designs, process loop and system designs.

The 3D files are compatible for many popular CAD systems including Pro/ENGINEER, Autodesk Inventor, SOLIDWORKS, Parasolid, AutoCAD, Catia, IGES, Anvil, CADKey, IronCAD, Mechanical Desktop, ACIS, SDRC I-DEAS, and Unigraphics in 3D formats .IGS, .NEU, .PDF, .SAT, .STP, .X_T, and 2D formats .DWG and .DXF. Products that feature a 3D CAD model are identified with a “3D View” icon, and a download button is available on each product page.

Dropping standard product models into a CAD design streamlines the engineering design process, makes it easier to source products for purchasing, simplifies installation and maintenance, and can shorten lead times for stocking spare products.

Electronic components live!

Anglia has made a significant upgrade to Anglia Live making it one of the fastest, most flexible e-commerce sites in the electronics industry. The new site offers a host of new and enhanced features including a completely configurable parametric search, allowing customers to compare devices and guiding them towards the best solution for their design.
David Pearson, Technical Director at Anglia, commented “The improved user experience on Anglia Live has been carefully developed over 18 months based on feedback from users. The website now offers users a more intuitive and enjoyable browsing experience – allowing customers to search the way that suits them.”

The search facility on Anglia Live is geared towards both engineers and buyers alike and encourages customization. Users can apply multiple filters to a single search and the parameters automatically turn grey when narrowed down to only one option. The parametric search also has an innovative undo feature that allows users to undo the changes they made one at a time instead of having to reset the whole search and start again if they have chosen an incorrect option. Thanks to a spreadsheet-style overview of components with a floating table header, customers can easily compare specifications of components without opening each individual page, saving valuable time. The search itself is exceptionally fast and can generate thousands of results in less than a second based on the keyword, part number or industry standard number entered. The site layout adjusts neatly to the individual user’s screen size and retains its functionality even on portable devices.

In addition to the speed and enhanced search, the new Anglia Live offers a host of other improvements. Customers can now sign up to email notifications to alert them when a component is coming into stock or when inventory on selected parts becomes low.  Ezysample, Anglia’s free ‘no questions asked’ sample service, is now fully integrated into the site, as is Anglia Sigma, which details a customer’s delivery performance, breakdown of enquiries and billing data to provide an overview of their experience with Anglia. In addition, customers can save regularly purchased products as custom Order Pads to save time. Market tabs bring together products and more detailed information for specific applications, further simplifying browsing and providing access to useful additional resources. Product certifications and other regulatory information such as RoHS status are listed along with product descriptions for easy reference.
