The RFOT is a wireless meat temperature data logger from Madgetech. The product has recently been enhanced with a new rugged probe that features a 3/16” straight diameter. The new probe design increases the products’ strength and durability, making it able to withstand harsher handling.

It is specifically designed for use in the cooking, cooling and storing of meat products. The device measures, records and wirelessly transmits internal product temperature readings back to a central computer for instant real-time monitoring. The instrument never needs to be connected to a computer as it has been designed for two way wireless communication. Full communication can be performed directly from a central PC. It can be used in smoke houses, ovens and other cooking processes up to 212°F (100°C) as well as refrigerators and freezers down to -4°F (-20°C). The device is equipped with a water-tight enclosure, making it easy to clean, and allowing the data logger to withstand wash down cycles.

MadgeTech’s easy to use software features user programmable critical control points, called “cooling flags” to assist in compliance with USDA Appendix B. The “cooling flags” are automatically annotated on the graph and tabular data views. The summary tab provides the cool down duration between each critical control point. The data can also be automatically exported to Excel® for further calculations.

Soil moisture!

Datalogger is available in two probe sizes

MadgeTech’s RFOT is a two way wireless meat temperature data logger. It measures, records and wirelessly transmits data for real time monitoring. The RFOT is now available in two probe sizes, 4” long with a transitional diameter from 0.13” to 0.11”, and 2.5” long with a 0.065” diameter. The new probe lengths allow the device to be used for monitoring meat products of various sizes.

The standard RFOT comes with a 4” rigid, piercing probe. It is designed for monitoring and recording the internal temperature of hams, turkeys, beef sides, and other mid to large sized meat products.

The RFOT-SMP is equipped with a 2.5” piercing probe, which is ideal for smaller meat products, such as hot dogs and sausages. The device can be used with MadgeTech’s RFOT-HDA, an attachment that guides the meat into place, ensuring that the probe is inserted into the center of the product.

High temperature pressure logger!

MadgeTech is releasing a high temperature, pressure data logger designed for use in autoclave validation and mapping. This rugged device can withstand temperatures up to 140°C and is completely submersible (IP68). It will begin shipping in February 2012.

The PR140 is built with a precision stainless steel pressure gauge. The device has an accuracy of ±0.03 Bar (±0.435 PSI), which can be achieved over a wide temperature range, from -20°C to +140°C(-4°F to 284°F). The PR140 can be programmed to take readings as often as once per second (1Hz), and has non-volatile memory that can store up to 32,700 measurements.

The instrument is easy to use. Simply place it in the IFC400 docking station, connect to a computer, and the device can be started, stopped or downloaded using the MadgeTech software. Graphical, tabular and summary data is provided for analysis and can be viewed in PSIA, mmHg, bar, Torr and kPa. The data can also be automatically exported to Excel® for further calculations.

MadgeTech has released a firmware upgrade for the TC101A and ETR101A data loggers. This upgrade enhances the devices to address the needs brought to MadgeTech by customers.

The firmware upgrade provides:
• Trigger setting capability: Program the data logger to only record temperature above a certain degree. No more analyzing unnecessary data!
• An LED alarm: Program the data logger to activate an LED alarm after it has recorded data for a user specified period of time!

These features are now included in all new ETR101A and TC101A data loggers shipping today. The firmware upgrade is FREE, and easy to install from a PC. Simply log onto their website , and select Firmware Upgrades from the Downloads menu. Click on the ETR101A Firmware Upgrade, and download the .zip file. Follow the instructions provided in the Installation Tech Note to upgrade each device.

Leaf wetness!

MadgeTech has released the LF110, a complete data logging system that accurately measures and records leaf wetness. Not only does it record the presence of water but it logs the amount of water on the sensor. The sensor responds to environments the same way a real leaf does and can also detect when ice is present. This low cost system comes complete with a data logger, weatherproof enclosure and leaf wetness sensor.

The LF110 is ideal for plant disease forecasting, irrigation studies and monitoring frost cycles. The LF110 can record up to 32,767 readings and has software configurable memory wrap to allow for longer deployments based on weather conditions. The storage medium is non-volatile, solid state memory, providing maximum data security even if the battery becomes discharged.

An IFC200 interface cable and software is required for use with the LF110. The device can be started and stopped directly from a computer using the MadgeTech Software.

MadgeTech has released a firmware upgrade for the ETR101A, exhaust temperature profiling system. This upgrade enhances the data logger to address the needs brought to them by customers using the ETR101A. To comply with CARB emission regulations the upgrade includes:

Low-cost data logger

MadgeTech has released the Pulse101A, a low-cost data logger which senses pulse inputs or contact closures from external sources such as transducers and/or pulse initiators. It can collect as many as 10,000 pulses per second (10KHz) and stores up to 500,000 readings (totalized pulse counts) in its non-volatile memory. The Pulse101A features a 10 year battery life, and a manual start/stop that can be executed multiple times without the need to download data in between studies.

The Pulse101A is commonly used to interface with contact closures from flow meters, power meters, anemometer's and other dry contact closures. With programmable engineering units available, users have the ability to convert data into a variety of units, such as gallons per minute, Kilowatt hours, or wind speed. This unique option enables the user to easily linearize and scale most any transducer that provides a pulse or contact closure output into the required units.

The MadgeTech software effortlessly shows statistical information based upon the type of unit stored within the device. If additional analysis is necessary, data can be easily exported to an MS Excel® spreadsheet for further review.

Voltage data logger

MadgeTech has released the Volt101A, a DC voltage data logger designed to measure and record low-level voltages with a high degree of accuracy.

The Volt101A can sample as fast as 4Hz, and features a 10 year battery life which allows the logger to be deployed in the field for months or even years. The device is also equipped with LED alarming functionality and can be programmed with high and low limits, that will trigger the red LED to blink if they are breached.

The unit is available in four different input ranges: 2.5V, 15V, 30V, and +/-160mV. The Volt101A-160mV measures differential voltage and is equipped with a 3-position screw terminal for positive, negative and ground connections.

It has user programmable engineering units, enabling the device to scale the input voltage to various units such as temperature, CO2, light and more. Engineering units in the device are a great

time saver as the data is shown in the scaled unit and can be downloaded on any computer with the MadgeTech Software.

Data logger software

MadgeTech has released their MadgeTech Data Logger Software, Version 2.03.6. The new software can be used with MadgeTech's full product line, and is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.

Version 2.03.6 includes high speed graphing, up to 10 times faster than previous versions and features USB drivers that are compatible with Windows Vista and 7, 32 and 64 bit operating systems. The software also has new features such as time at temperature statistics and battery monitoring for some data loggers.

Tempearture data logger

MadgeTech has released the HiTemp150-PT, a submersible temperature data logger with a 24”, flexible stainless steel probe. What makes this probe unique is its extreme durability. It can be spiraled, bent or angled in any direction, making it easy to log temperatures within bottles, vials and other hard to reach locations.

It can measure and record temperatures between -40 and 150°C and users can select reading rate options from 1 reading every second to one every 12 hours. The device is calibrated prior to shipping, and a N.I.S.T. traceable certificate can be purchased.

The unit can be started and stopped directly from a computer using the MadgeTech software, which is a free download from the website. Users can view the data in graphical, tabular and summary views as well as print professional reports.
