Precision Digital Corporation has released a new series of Quick Start Guides for its most popular displays and controllers. Each guide is 8-12 pages of information designed to get the end-user up and running quickly without having to navigate through a complicated manual.

 A printed copy of each product's Quick Start Guide is included with Precision Digital's most popular digital panel meters: the ProVu® PD6000 Process Meter, the PD6200 and PD6300 Rate/Totalizers, and the Trident and Trident X2 Process Meters.

Power up to 12 load cells for large weighing applications.

Precision Digital Corporation has  announced the latest versions of the PD6100 Strain Gauge Meter and the PD8-6100 Explosion-Proof Strain Gauge Meter. Part of the ProVu® and ProtEX® families of digital panel meters, the PD6100 and PD8-6100 are digital strain gauge and load cell meters designed for weight, millivolt, and force measurement applications.

New features include the ability to power up to twelve (12) 350 ohm load cells. Enhanced programming buttons now closely resemble the operation of a typical scale, allowing for zeroing with one button push. The Tare/Reset Tare function enables the meters to compensate for anomalies, such as sludge buildup at the bottom of an empty tank. In addition, the dual-scale function means measurements can be displayed in two different units of measure.

Precision Digital Corporation has announced the latest member of the ProVu® family of digital panel meters, the PD6400 High Voltage and Current Meter. An 1/8 DIN size unit, the PD6400 provides reliable measurement of high voltage, current, and apparent power. Independent, field-selectable current and voltage inputs accept up to 300 V and 5 A, AC or DC.

The user-configurable, dual-linedisplay features easy-to-read LED digits and warning lights with adjustable brightness. Modbus® capability (Slave) allows seamless integration into existing networks. The PD6400 is NEMA4X/IP65 rated for use in a panel or in the field under harsh environmental conditions; it also carries CE and UL listings.

The PD6400 High Voltage and Current Meter can be easily installed into virtually any application requiring high voltage measurement up to 300 V, high current measurement up to 5 A, or measurement of apparent power. The meter can also accept current transformer inputs for even higher current measurements. AC or DC voltage or current can be measured, and is field-selectable. Explosion proof feet & inches panel meters.

The latest ProVu® family member, the PD6001 Feet & Inches 1/8 DIN Panel Meter has been announced by Precision Digital. A NEMA 4X panel mounted indicator, the PD6001 is based on a reliable, economical design that features an easy-to-read feet & inches display with adjustable brightness. Multi-purpose safe area modbus scanners.

The Vantageview PD6730X Modbus Scanner, from Precision Digital Corporation, is a rugged, NEMA 4X/IP65 Modbus master, slave, or snooper (sniffer). The multi-purpose PD6730X is designed for accurate display of and quick access to information, locally or remotely, in wet or dirty environments. It can accept up to 16 individually programmed process variables (PVs) from multiple devices; four math channels allow for calculations on multiple PVs. Williams has over 20 years of experience working in the process industries and over 15 years experience in sales management. He started his career as a process controls engineer with Invensys and has held positions with Emerson, Mitsubishi Electric Europe, and ARC Advisory Group. Williams holds a masters degree in engineering and an MBA from Boston University.

EX programming software for flow meters!

Precision Digital Corporation has announced MeterView EX Programming Software for the Vantageview PD6730 and ProtEX PD6830 Pulse Input Flow Rate / Totalizers. MeterView EX provides plant operators with full control of the meter configuration process using an intuitive layout and an easy-to-understand interface. Clearly labeled menus enable quick programming of the powerful functions provided in the PD6730 and PD6830 meters. The software is available at no cost from their website!

MeterView EX features tabs that present the logical location of specifically related functions and programming elements. Tabs include K-Factor, Display, Pulse Output, 4-20 mA Output, Data Logging, and more. Within each tab, the features are organized by related item. Drop-down menus help to avoid confusion when selecting settings. Copying one meter configuration to another, as well as saving or retrieving meter configurations, is a straightforward process. Configurations can also be printed in list form.

An on-board meter data log holds up to 1024 records and can be downloaded to the PC. Each logged record contains the date, time, rate, total, grand total, and log number.

Modbus scanners

Precision Digital has announced the Super Snooper line of Modbus® scanners, including the ProVu® PD6080 Series of 1/8 DIN digital panel meters and the ProtEX®-MAX PD8-6080 Series of explosion-proof scanners. The Super Snooper scanners can be set up as Modbus RTU Masters, Slaves, or Snoopers, monitoring multiple Modbus devices for up to 16 process variables, including level, interface level, density, and temperature. The meters also provide two independently programmed analog inputs and an array of math functions for sum, difference, average, and ratio calculations.

PD6080 & PD6081

The ProVu PD6080 Series Super Snoopers are NEMA 4X 1/8 DIN panel indicators with bright, easy to read digits. The PD6080 and PD6081 include dual analog inputs and an RS-485 serial communications module, allowing integration of existing 4-20 mA transmitters and Modbus devices on the same display. The PD6088 and PD6089 include on-board RS-485 serial communications and no analog inputs. The PD6081 and PD6089 have a unique feet and inches display, ideal for level applications.

The Super Snooper scanners can be easily integrated into an existing Modbus network. Remote displays can be added without making changes to other Modbus devices. New 1/8 DIN dual-input flow rate/totalisers

Precision Digital has just announced the ProVu® PD6262 and PD6363 Dual-Input Flow Rate / Totalizers. The new 1/8 DIN panel meters feature independent programming of inputs, including separate selection of input type and scaling. The PD6262 panel meter supports dual analog inputs of 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, 0-5 V, 1-5 V, or ±10 V. The PD6363 supports dual pulse inputs, including square wave, open collector, NPN, PNP, TTL, or switch contact signals. Both meters provide integrated math functions for rate or total flow calculations: addition, difference, summation, multiplication, division, min/max, weighted average, ratio, concentration, and more.

The PD6262 and PD6363 feature rugged NEMA 4X front panels. The optional SunBright display can be read even in direct sunlight, smoke, fog, dust, or at a distance. The meters are designed for quick and easy display of local or remote information in a variety of flow applications, such as municipal water measurement, wastewater treatment, or chemical mixing. For hazardous areas, such as oil and gas production, the meters are also available as explosion-proof, IP68, NEMA 4X ProtEX®-MAX models.

Level Meter - Explosion-Proof, Loop-Powered!

Precision Digital's PD6801 is an easy to read, explosion-proof meter designed for safe or hazardous environments, such as oil wells or chemical storage. The 4-20 mA loop-powered input displays level in feet and inches; a second line shows volume, percent, or a custom label. The meter also features a 20-segment tank level indicator that displays height. The PD6801 is optimized for wide-angle viewing of about 80˚, nearly twice that of competitive models. The meter has FM, ATEX, CSA, and IECEx approvals and is housed in a rugged, cast aluminum NEMA 4X enclosure. Unique SafeTouch® through-glass buttons allow operation without removing the cover, ensuring the integrity of the unit.

The backlit meter is easy to read from a distance, under various lighting conditions, and from wide viewing angles of up to +/- 40 degrees (twice that of competitive models).

Four sensors in the PD6801 operate as through glass buttons for programming and operation without removing the cover in hazardous areas. These SafeTouch® buttons are standard, and allow high or low level alarm acknowledgement while being designed to prevent unintended triggers.

A 20-segment tank level indicator provides a quick view of height and will flash to alert operators about alarm conditions. It can be scaled independently of the analog input scale. This means the PD6801 can display as full at less than 20 mA, for level transmitters that output less than 20 mA at the maximum height of the tank or pit depth.

For non-linear signals, such as measuring the volume of odd-shaped tanks, the PD6801 features multipoint linearization up to 32 points. The level and volume scales can use different numbers of linearization points.

Explosion-proof, multi-powered, pulse input flow rate unit features Modbus Communications, SafeTouch® Through-Glass buttons & automatic unit conversions

Precision Digital has announced the PD6830 ProtEx®-RTP Pulse Input Rate/Totaliser. With a rugged, explosion-proof, NEMA 4X enclosure, the PD6830 is designed for quick and easy display of local or remote flow information in hazardous areas or the harshest safe area applications. The unique SafeTouch® through-glass buttons allow operation without removing the cover.

Flowmeter k-factor units are automatically converted to the desired display units; this means no conversion factors are needed. The pulse input accepts a wide range of flow transmitter signals, including mV input from a magnetic flowmeter, as well as high frequency signals. The unit includes backlighting and two open collector outputs as standard. The meter has FM, ATEX, CSA, IECEx, and CE approvals and is housed in a rugged, cast aluminum NEMA 4X enclosure.

It features an upper display that is 0.7 inches high and shows five digits of flow rate or total. The lower display is 0.4 inches high and shows a combination of flow rate, total, grand total, or a tag with seven alphanumeric characters. The meter is easy to read from a distance, under various lighting conditions, and from wide viewing angles of up to +/- 40 degrees (twice that of competitive models).

Four sensors in the PD6830 operate as through glass buttons for programming and operation without removing the cover in hazardous areas. These SafeTouch® buttons include an energy saving mode to save power, extend battery life, and prevent unintended triggers.

Unit conversions are automatically performed by the PD6830. This means no math or conversion factors are needed. The meter is capable of data logging up to 1024 records in real time. Each record contains date, time, rate, total, grand total, and log number.

The instruments is designed to handle a wide variety of high speed inputs and outputs. Inputs include active to 20 mV p-p pulses, open collector, NPN, PNP, TTL, or switch contacts up to 64 kHz. Inputs can be discerned with pulse widths as small as 5 µs. Two open collector outputs are individually programmable for rate, total, or grand total alarms; rate, total, or grand total pulse outputs; retransmission of pulse inputs; quadrature paired output; or constant timed pulse output.

The PD6830 provides flexible power options, including battery, DC with battery backup, DC only, output-loop, or output loop with battery backup.
