Power up to 12 load cells for large weighing applications.

Precision Digital Corporation has  announced the latest versions of the PD6100 Strain Gauge Meter and the PD8-6100 Explosion-Proof Strain Gauge Meter. Part of the ProVu® and ProtEX® families of digital panel meters, the PD6100 and PD8-6100 are digital strain gauge and load cell meters designed for weight, millivolt, and force measurement applications.

New features include the ability to power up to twelve (12) 350 ohm load cells. Enhanced programming buttons now closely resemble the operation of a typical scale, allowing for zeroing with one button push. The Tare/Reset Tare function enables the meters to compensate for anomalies, such as sludge buildup at the bottom of an empty tank. In addition, the dual-scale function means measurements can be displayed in two different units of measure.

"The PD6100 is the perfect choice for weighing applications in large bins, tanks, or scales, because the meter enables more load cells to be averaged to determine weight, volume, or level," said Jeffrey Peters, President of Precision Digital Corporation. "The PD8-6100’s NEMA 4X/IP68 rating makes it ideal for weighing applications in hazardous or harsh environments."

Both the PD6100 and PD8-6100 feature one-button zeroing of the display, auto-zero adjustment to prevent drift, and highly visible information displays in panel-mounted or rugged, field-mounted enclosures.

The explosion-proof PD8-6100 is rated NEMA 4X/IP68 and carries worldwide agency approvals (FM, CSA, ATEX, IECex, and CE) that allow it to operate in hazardous locations or in the field under the harshest environmental conditions, such as extreme cold.

The PD6100 and PD8-6100 Strain Gauge Meters can perform automatic unit conversions when switching between pre-defined units, such as pounds, kilograms, and tons, without the need for additional scaling. Both meters accept mV input signals up to 300 mV (unipolar) and ±250 mV (bipolar), and are rated for a max current of 350 mA @ 10V.

New member for digital meter family!

Precision Digital Corporation has announced the latest member of the ProVu® family of digital panel meters, the PD6400 High Voltage and Current Meter. An 1/8 DIN size unit, the PD6400 provides reliable measurement of high voltage, current, and apparent power. Independent, field-selectable current and voltage inputs accept up to 300 V and 5 A, AC or DC.

The user-configurable, dual-linedisplay features easy-to-read LED digits and warning lights with adjustable brightness. Modbus® capability (Slave) allows seamless integration into existing networks. The PD6400 is NEMA4X/IP65 rated for use in a panel or in the field under harsh environmental conditions; it also carries CE and UL listings.

The PD6400 High Voltage and Current Meter can be easily installed into virtually any application requiring high voltage measurement up to 300 V, high current measurement up to 5 A, or measurement of apparent power. The meter can also accept current transformer inputs for even higher current measurements. AC or DC voltage or current can be measured, and is field-selectable. The displayed voltage, current, or apparent power level can be clearly labeled with a custom tag and unit. The voltage and current can also be scaled to represent different engineering units.

Programming the PD6400 is easy with the company’s free MeterView® Pro software, which streamlines meter setup and eliminates most button pushing.

Options for the PD6400 meter include up to four (4) relays, a 4-20 mA analog output, and a 24 VDC power supply.  Expansion modules add an additional four (4) relays, two (2) 4-20 mA outputs, and eight (8) digital I/O.

Explosion proof feet & inches panel meters.

The latest ProVu® family member, the PD6001 Feet & Inches 1/8 DIN Panel Meter has been announced by Precision Digital. A NEMA 4X panel mounted indicator, the PD6001 is based on a reliable, economical design that features an easy-to-read feet & inches display with adjustable brightness. FT and IN indicators make it ideal for level applications. It is also available as the ProtEX®-MAX PD8-6001, an explosion-proof meter for hazardous areas.

PD6001
The PD6001 and PD8-6001 Feet & Inches Meters include field-selectable inputs, allowing seamless integration of existing 0-20/4-20 mA or +/-10 V transmitters. The meters can also be set up as Modbus RTU Slaves.

Both meters can be easily installed into virtually any level application using common 4-20 mA or 0-10 V level transmitters. The displayed product level may be clearly labeled with a custom tag and unit. Programming the unit is even easier with free MeterView® Pro software, which streamlines meter setup and eliminates a lot of button pushing.

The ProtEX-MAX PD8-6001 Feet & Inches Meter is housed in an explosion-proof enclosure for use in hazardous areas. SafeTouch® through-glass buttons provide accessibility to the front buttons without removing the enclosure cover, keeping the meter's interior electronics fully protected. The entire product carries FM, CSA, ATEX, and IECEX approvals for use in hazardous area level applications or in the field under the harshest environmental conditions.

"We regularly communicate with distributors, end users, and technicians in the field, which leads to the development of new products," said Jeffrey Peters, President of Precision Digital Corp. "The success of our Super Snooper Modbus® Scanners, coupled with the demand for Feet & Inches displays, influenced the expansion of the ProVu Series to include a low-cost model that doesn’t sacrifice quality."

Options include up to four (4) relays, a 4-20 mA analog output, and dual 24 VDC power supplies. Expansion modules for the 1/8 DIN models add an additional four (4) relays, two (2) 4-20 mA outputs, and eight (8) digital I/O.

Multi-purpose safe area modbus scanners.

The Vantageview PD6730X Modbus Scanner, from Precision Digital Corporation, is a rugged, NEMA 4X/IP65 Modbus master, slave, or snooper (sniffer). The multi-purpose PD6730X is designed for accurate display of and quick access to information, locally or remotely, in wet or dirty environments. It can accept up to 16 individually programmed process variables (PVs) from multiple devices; four math channels allow for calculations on multiple PVs. The unique SafeTouch® through-window buttons allow operation without removing the cover. The pulse input accepts a wide range of flow transmitter signals, including mV input from a magnetic flowmeter, as well as high frequency signals.

The instrument includes backlighting, two open collector outputs, and an analog output as standard. The scanner has been manufactured to Precision Digital’s exacting standards and is housed in a durable, injection-molded thermal plastic enclosure.
"The versatile Vantageview PD6730X is loaded with features that plant operators can appreciate," said Jeffrey Peters, President, Precision Digital Corporation. "It is simple to program using our free ScanView EX software, displays critical information about the process, and can be seen from wide angles and a distance. The PD6730X is designed for readability and ease of use, from large character and Feet & Inches displays to automatic rate conversions and data logging. Plus, it integrates easily into existing Modbus networks."

The Decimal Display models feature an upper display that is 0.7 inches high and shows five digits of information; the Feet & Inches models feature a level display that reads up to 399 feet, 11 and 15/16 inches and contains a 20-segment tank level indicator. The lower display for both models is 0.4 inches high, with seven alphanumeric characters, for Process Variables, Custom Units, or Tags. The bright LCD display is easily read under varying lighting conditions and from viewing angles of up to +/- 40 degrees (twice that of competitive models); it can also be rotated in 90 degree increments for increased readability.

Four sensors in the unit operate as through-window buttons for programming and operation without removing the cover in wet or dirty areas. These SafeTouch buttons include an energy saving mode to save power, extend battery life, and prevent unintended triggers.

The PD6730X provides flexible power options, including battery, DC with battery backup, DC only, output-loop, or output loop with battery backup. Its element-resistant enclosure provides three threaded conduit holes and integrated pipe or wall mounting holes. Operating temperatures range from -40 to 75 degrees C.
