Bicker Elektronik is expanding its portfolio of industrial UPS solutions with the intelligent DC UPS UPSI-2406R2DP2MB – designed and manufactured entirely in Germany. The 24V uninterruptible power supply with maintenance-free Supercaps (EDLC) is ideally suited for reliable bridging of short to medium backup times, protecting connected systems against power failures, voltage dips, and flicker. The compact DC UPS for DIN rail mounting combines a regulated 24VDC backup output voltage at 6A with a completely maintenance-free Supercap energy storage unit and front-panel communication interfaces (USB-C, RS485/Modbus, relay contact).
Robust design for continuous industrial operation.
The UPSI-2406R2DP2MB is rated for an extended operating temperature range of −20°C to +65°C. A robust aluminium housing and high immunity to burst and surge events in accordance with EN 61000-4-4 and EN 61000-4-5 ensure reliable operation in electromagnetically demanding industrial environments. Comprehensive protection functions – including reverse-polarity, short-circuit, and overcurrent protection – contribute to high operational safety and a long service life. The PowerSharing function dynamically distributes available input power between the load supply and the Supercap charger, so that upstream AC/DC power supplies need not be oversized.
Completely maintenance-free Supercap technology (EDLC).
Instead of conventional batteries, the DC UPS UPSI-2406R2DP2MB is equipped with high-performance electric double-layer capacitors (Supercaps/EDLC) offering an extremely high cycle durability of up to 500,000 charge and discharge cycles. Compared to other energy storage technologies, supercapacitors enable particularly short charge times and guarantee completely maintenance-free operation throughout the entire service life. Furthermore, the capacitive, purely physical storage principle of Supercaps provides a maximum level of safety, as energy is stored without electrochemical reactions.
Interfaces and system integration.
For integration into existing control and automation environments, the UPSI-2406R2DP2MB features front-panel USB-C and RS485 Modbus interfaces as well as a configurable relay contact for power-fail signalling. The UPS can transmit system status information and enables seamless integration into higher-level monitoring and control systems.
UPS Management software "UPScom".
For configuration, monitoring, and management, Bicker Elektronik provides the newly developed UPS management software ‘UPScom’ free of charge. The software is based on a WebAssembly architecture and is operated via a web-based user interface in the browser. It supports x86 and ARM-64 systems running Microsoft® Windows and various Linux distributions. In addition to real-time state-of-charge monitoring, parameters such as shutdown delays, maximum backup time, minimum load threshold, and e-mail notifications can be configured.
Shutdown & Reboot function for IPC systems.
In the event of a power failure, the DC UPS signals the power-fail condition and can initiate a controlled shutdown of connected industrial PCs or embedded systems to prevent data loss. Optionally, application-specific scripts can be executed prior to shutdown in order to close processes in an orderly manner. Once the supply voltage is restored, the integrated reboot function automatically restarts the system – particularly beneficial for self-sufficient or remotely located installations. The software also supports event-based e-mail notifications, for example in the event of a mains failure, system shutdown, or communication errors.

The UPSI-2406R2DP2MB is suited for uninterruptible operation of embedded IPCs, controllers, motor drives, sensors, and measurement, control, and safety equipment. Typical applications include control cabinet solutions, decentralised power supply concepts, and industrial systems where continuous power availability is essential. The DC UPS is approved to IEC/EN/UL 61010-1 and IEC/EN/UL 61010-2-201 and is available ex-stock.
