The death of
Bob Squirrell has been announced. He died in Cyprus on the 14th December 2023.
Bob was chairman of
The PROFIBUS Group (PI-UK) for nigh on 30 years since its formation in 1993. As such he headed up the British Steering Committee responsible for membership (including many well-known companies such as BAE Systems, Siemens and United Utilities), and he served on the International Board for implementing corporate strategy, promoting the technology and managing the marketing, events and administrative affairs.
A statement from the group said, "Bob was an inspiration to us all, he was a valued friend, leader, a driving force and will be missed.
"He was a devoted evangelist for PROFIBUS and PROFINET and without his dedication to PIUK we would not be the successful group we are today. Both he and Ann (his wife) delivered a very high standard of professionalism to our community, but with passion and enthusiasm."
