Sponsored for European Heart and Lung Transplant Games

Last Summer, Mitsubishi Electric sponsored David Berber in the 14th European Heart and Lung Transplant Games in Apeldoorn (NL). The idea of the games is to help raise awareness and to encourage donations across the globe, while at the same time, allowing the recipients to honour their donors and express gratitude for this Gift of Life.

Mitsubishi Electric have had a long and successful association with David through his distribution company Automation and Control Engineering over the past twenty years.

David received a heart transplant in May 2011 and was a first time participant in the games. David partook in two sports, table tennis and the 50m swim, taking home the silver in the 50m swim.

David is now a committee member of the Irish Heart and Lung transplant Association and speaks of his complete admiration for the Heart and Lung Transplant games;

“People forget that someone has to die so that you live and celebrate this remarkable gift you have been given. The games aim to raise awareness after a near death experience and to try somehow honour the donor and the donors’ families in some small way," he says.

Mitsubishi Electric were proud to be able to sponsor David in the European Heart and Lungs Transplant games and wish him the best of luck for the future.
