Novel twin channel CameraLink (PoCL) embedded vision computer

The EOS-4000 from Adlink is industry’s first 2 channel PoCL (Power over CameraLink) ready-to-deploy embedded vision pc system. With a 3rd generation Intel Core i5/i7 quad processor and compatible with PoCL cameras from Stemmer Imaging’s portfolio, the compact EOS-4000 allows high speed, high resolution imaging for industrial factory automation and medical imaging applications.

For applications requiring high data bandwidth and zero latency image acquisition, the EOS-4000’s dual independent PoCL ports provide data transfer up to 2.56 GByte/s, and pixel clock rates up to 85 MHz for high speed capture of large images. The system uses direct memory access to transmit image data directly from the camera to system memory, eliminating CPU loading during image acquisition. The EOS-4000 supports 64-bit memory addressing, benefiting large address space vision applications.

The rugged and compact (230 x 206 x 82 mm) EOS-4000 supports a two channel PoCL CameraLink base configuration, reducing cabling requirements and eliminating the need for external power adapters. It simplifies system installation and lowers maintenance costs.

The enhanced connectivity of the EOS-4000 provides a rich I/O capability, including trigger and encoder input and two independent RS-232 serial communication ports, reducing host computer loading. 64 isolated digital I/O connectors, digital filter, dual storage, internal USB port, and 1 kbit programmable EEPROM all ideally equip the EOS-4000 to integrate, deploy, and manage copy protection or authentication of software licenses for system development, further accelerating time to market.
