Alarm switching unit

Status Instruments has launched the SEM1633, a unit that provides an accurate alarm/switching function when used with RTD or slidewire sensors.

The SEM1633’s flexible design allows the use of any resistive sensor within the range of (10 to 10000) Ω, including Pt100, 500, 1000, Ni or Cu sensors as well as slidewire sensors up to 100KΩ. Other sensor characteristics or the user’s own 24 point linearisation characteristic (for slidewire or linear resistance) can be downloaded into the product enabling it to be adapted to the exact application required.

Trip outputs are independently configured for six actions: normal High/Low/Deviation and inverted High/Low/Deviation as well as set point and dead band.

For ease of use, a high efficiency switch mode power supply is fitted as standard and does not require any adjustment between ac or dc applications. Operating voltages are (10 to 48) V dc and (10 to 32) V ac

Status’ USB interface is fitted for quick and easy configuration of the SEM1633 using a standard USB cable between the SEM1633 and the user’s PC. Using Status’ free configuration software, the PC will automatically upload the existing configuration data and guide the user through any changes that hey wish to make. To further help save time, the SEM1633 does not need to be wired to a power supply during the configuration process either, it is powered via the USB interface from the PC.

Status Instruments are markted by P J Boner & Company in Ireland.
